What is happening?
CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:
Royston Road (A10), Harston
(TEMPORARY 40MPH AND 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024-1025
Is to impose a 40mph and 30mph speed limit along Royston Road (A10), Harston as lies between Harston Mill and New Farm. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5 August and 13 November 2024.
High Street, Melbourn
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1026
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Melbourn as lies between Green Banks and Back Lane.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Royston Road - A10 - Cambridge Road, Shepreth -Cambridge Road, Melbourn - High Street and vice versa.
The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 19 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 18 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 19 August and 23 August 2024.
North End, Meldreth (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1085
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along North End, Meldreth as lies between College Farm Business Park and Malton Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via North End - High Street - Station Road - A10 - Frog End, Shepreth - High Street - Meldreth Road -North End and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water disconnection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 15 October 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 14 April 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 15 October and 17 October 2024. Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
