Milk Street & Atherton Street - Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic For New Electrical Cable & Core Drilling Works

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC139349454: The City of Manchester (Milk Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is to restrict traffic on Milk Street for its full length.

The alternative routes for traffic will be: Marble Street, Spring Gardens, York Street & York Steet, Fountain Street, Marble Street.

The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a new electrical cable. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 7th August 2024 to 13th August 2024.

The order shall come into operation on 7th August 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

ORDER NO. MCC138871668: The City of Manchester (Atherton Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Atherton Street.

The alternative routes for traffic will be: Quay Street, Lower Byrom Street, Great John Street & Vice Versa.

The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate core drilling in a jointing chamber in footway and carriageway for provision of service. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 7th August 2024 to the 9th August 2024.

The order shall come into operation on the 7th August 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
