(CLOSURE OF SOUTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY AT PAUL WATSON WAY SUNDERLAND)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 24th July 2024 an Order was made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit southbound vehicular traffic along Paul Watson Way, from its junction with Cowies Way to its junction with European Way. The Order is required to facilitate new electrical connection works on or near the road. The Order will come into operation on 6th August 2024. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be 18 months, however it is estimated that the closure will be in operation for approximately two weeks from commencement of the works. All vehicles will be prohibited from the above road (except vehicles involved in the works) until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. Alternative routes will be provided via A1231 Cowies Way, B1405 Pallion New Road and European Way.
