NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2024
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Silver Street, Clevedon, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 5 August 2024 – Ref: T24-35
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order is required because of carriageway resurfacing works and will become operative on 5 August 2024, anticipated to be 15 days in duration between 8am and 5pm. The maximum period for the closures is 18 months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.
Schedule – Silver Street full extent.
Alternative routes – Silver Street – Kingshill, North Street, Queens Road, Station Road, Nowhere Lane, Nailsea Park, High Street, Stock Way North and vice versa
Rusling Lane, Butcombe, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 16 September 2024 – Ref: SW24.25-142
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid to trench for new supply. This will become operative on 16 September 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 4 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 21 September 2024 – Ref: SW24.25-143
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace a pole. This will become operative on 21 September 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 1 day in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Butts Batch, Wrington, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024
Date coming into force: 6 August 2024 – Ref: SW24.25-116
Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles, and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid to change four decayed poles and trim trees. This will become operative on 6 August 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace a pole. This will become operative on the 7 August 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 1 day in duration between 8.30am and 4.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This will become operative on 7 August 2024 for a maximum period of 18 months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be 2 days in duration. Notice of Intent
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
(B3133 North End Road & High Street, Yatton, North Somerset)
20mph and 30mph Speed Limit Order 2024 – Ref: 2412/KFDM/2024
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council (hereinafter referred to as ‘the council’) in exercise of its powers under sections 81, 82, 83, 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act of 1984’) and in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and of all other enabling powers, propose to make an Order. The general effect of the order shall be to (1) introduce a 20mph speed limit, on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice. (2) Introduce a change in extents of the 30mph speed limit, on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice. (3) Revoke part of the existing Traffic Regulation Order, on the length of the road specified in Schedule 3 to this notice.

Schedule 1: Lengths of Road with a 20mph speed limit: North End Road (B3133) from a point approximately 55m northwest of its junction with Grange Farm Road, in a southwesterly direction for approximately 323m. High Street (B3133) from where it meets North End Road in a southwesterly direction, to a point approximately 32m northwest of its junction with Claverham Road, a distance of approximately 1240m.
Kenn Moor Road from its junction with North End Road in a northeasterly direction for approximately 28m. Mendip Road from a point approximately 17m west of its junction with Frost Hill, for its entire length.
Frost Hill – the section which includes the properties of Ivydale, The Sweet Shop, Leste House for its entire length.

Schedule 3: Order to be revoked: Article 4 of Schedule 1 to The County Council of Avon (Various Roads, Congresbury and Yatton, District of Woodspring) (Restricted Roads) (40 MPH Speed Limit) Order 1996: is hereby revoked in so far as it relates to Schedule 2 of this Order.

Notice of Public Path Order
Highways Act 1980 Section 119
Part of Public Footpath LA 12/4, Birches Farm, Weston Road, Long Ashton
Public Path Diversion Order No.7 2024
The above Order, made on 18 June 2024, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert part of Public Footpath LA 12/4 in the Parish of Long Ashton within the District of North Somerset as described below: from point A (grid reference ST 55286 69953), running in a South Easterly direction, to point B (ST 52814 69527), to point C (ST 52940 69529) a distance of approximately 350m to a footpath to point E (ST 52960 69400), running in a generally Easterly direction to point F (ST 52637 69423), running in a North Easterly direction to point G (ST 52828 69492) and then continuing in a North Easterly direction to point C (ST 52960 69529) which is a total distance of approximately 306m.
The proposal is shown on the Order Map No. PPO 204. The existing route is shown with a bold black line and the proposed route is shown with black dashes. References to lettered points in this notice are references to points marked on the Order Map.
