What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CADDINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO A8)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 20 January 2023 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of part of public Footpath No A8, Caddington which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0598 2050 to OS GR TL 0608 2032 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 26 July 2025.

This temporary closure is required as the footpath is currently unsafe for pedestrians. The closure is expected to continue from 27 July 2024 for up to twelve months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(NEW AIRPORT WAY ENTRY SLIP ROAD (A1081), HYDE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of New Airport Way Entry Slip Road (A1081), Hyde between A1081 and London Road roundabout.

This temporary closure is required to enable drainage survey works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 9pm on 12 August to 5am on 13 August 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A1081, A505, A1081 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 12 August 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(HOUGHTON PARK ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Houghton Park Road, Houghton Regis between Melton Walk and outside number 4.

This temporary closure and HGV restriction is required to enable overhead line works to take place in safety and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 12 August to 9 September 2024 between the hours of 7am and 5pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

The Order will come into operation on 12 August 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF STOPPING AND WAITING) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from stopping or waiting along the length of Houghton Park Road, Houghton Regis between Melton Walk and outside number 4.

This temporary no stopping or waiting is required to safely facilitate overhead line works and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing. It is expected that no stopping or waiting will be in force on Monday 12 August to Monday 9 September 2024 between the hours of 7am and 5pm. The order will be in operation at all times during this period.

Any vehicles found to be in contravention of this order will be removed from the public highway and stored until the registered owner arranges collection.

The Order will come into operation on 12 August 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Lovers Walk, Dunstable outside number 24.

This temporary closure is required to enable electrical connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 12 to 16 August 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Richard Street, Great Northern Road, A5183 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 12 August 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Tithe Farm Road, Houghton Regis between Cleverkidz Nursery, Tithe Farm Lower School and number 103.

This temporary closure is required to enable lining works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 12 to 16 August 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Hillborough Crescent, Sundon Road, East End, The Green and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 12 August 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Langdale Road, Dunstable between Canesworde Road and Hilton Avenue. This temporary closure is required to enable drainage repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 July to 30 August 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Bullpond Lane, Garden Road, A5183, B489, Meadway, Canesworde Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 July 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street North, Dunstable outside number 76.

This temporary closure is required to enable sewer repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 July to 2 August 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A505, A5505, A5, Watling Street, A505 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 July 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE NO WAITING AT ANY TIME IN VALENCE END AND LOWTHER ROAD, DUNSTABLE

Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising; For facilitating the passage of traffic on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians); The waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking and to ensure that junctions are not obstructed by parked vehicles.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following length of road in Dunstable:-

1.  Valence End, both sides, from the junction with Lowther Road, extending in a northeasterly direction for approximately 15 metres.

2.  Lowther Road, north side, from the junction with Valence End, extending in a westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

3.  Lowther Road, north side, from the junction with Valence End, extending in an easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.
