What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

(BASTABLE AVENUE, BARKING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF

VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE OF MAKING

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate carriageway surfacing works to a new raised table, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has made a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Wednesday 31 July 2024. The works expected for:

* Carriageway surfacing works to take 2 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Thursday 1 August 2024 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8.00pm and 5.00am.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily:-

* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Bastable Avenue, both sides, from its junction with Hockley Mews to its junction with Charlton Crescent.

* Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Curzon Crescent, both sides, from its junction with Bastable Avenue to its junction with Stanley Avenue.

* Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for Access) on Bastable Avenue; o Both sides, from its junction with River Road to its junction with

Hockley Mews.

o Both sides, from its junction with Charlton Crescent to its junction with Renwick Road.

* Suspend the bus Lane on Bastable Avenue, westbound carriageway, from its junction with Renwick Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 24 metres.

* Suspend in the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone TH Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm bays at the following locations:

o Bastable Avenue, north side, from the common boundary of

No's 7 & 9 Bastable Avenue, for a distance of 62.6 metres in an

easterly direction, o Bastable Avenue, south side, from a point 12.3 metres west of the

western kerbline of Curzon Crescent, for a distance of 35 metres

in a westerly direction, o Bastable Avenue, south side, from a point 11.4 metres east of the

eastern kerbline of Curzon Crescent, for a distance of 14 metres

in an easterly direction.

* Suspend in the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone TV bays at the following locations:

o Curzon Crescent, west side, from a point 12 metres south of its junction with Bastable Avenue, for a distance of 13.3 metres in a southerly direction.

o Curzon Crescent, west side, from a point 30.7 metres south of its junction with Bastable Avenue, for a distance of 20.2 metres in a southerly direction.

o Curzon Crescent, south-west side, from a point 0.5 metres north­west of the common boundary of No's 10 & 12 Curzon Crescent, for a distance of 21.5 metres in a south-easterly direction.

* Suspend the three Electric Vehicle Charging Only bays on Bastable Avenue, south side, from a point 11 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Hockley Mews, for a distance of 16.8 metres in an easterly direction.

* Suspend in part the Resident Permit Holders Only Zone TV bay on Curzon Crescent, south-west side, from a point 2.7 metres south-east of the common boundary of No's 16 & 18 Curzon Crescent, for a distance of 7.8 metres in a south-easterly direction.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

* Via Bastable Avenue, River Road, Thames Road and Renwick Road and Vice Versa.
