Main Street, Gonalston - Temporary Prohibition of Driving to Carry Out Works to Install a New Footway Scheme
What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (MAIN STREET, GONALSTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (N24-220)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Gonalston in the District of Newark.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road: a. Main Street, Gonalston - From its junction with Southwell Road for a distance of 280 metres in a North Westerly direction.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both Sides) (At all times) in the following length of road. a. Main Street, Gonalston - From its junction with Southwell Road for a distance of 280 metres in a North Westerly direction.
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 09:00 Hours, Monday 22nd July 2024 Until 16:00 Hours, Friday 9th August 2024, Inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: a. Southwell Road - Main Street and Vice Versa The Order will come into force on Monday 22nd July 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.
The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out works to install a new Footway Scheme;
