What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

SEVENOAKS AREA

 

A20 London Road, Farningham, DA4 0DJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of carriageway surface dressing and lockchip works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A20 London Road, Farningham.

Closures are planned for 30th July 2024 between 04.30hrs and 07.00hrs for 1 day and 5th August 2024 for approx. 1 hour between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs.

The road will be closed between A225 Dartford Road and Scratchers Lane.

The alternative route is via A225 Dartford Road, A225 Main Road, Parsonage Lane, Darenth Hill, B260 Green Street Green Road, B260 Main Road, B260 Longfield Road, A227 Wrotham Road, A227 Gravesend Road, A20 London Road, A20 Gorse Hill and vice versa.

 

A25 Westerham Road, Bessels Green, TN13 2QB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of National Highways works over the A21, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A25 Westerham Road, Bessels Green, on or after 12th August 2024 until 25th November 2024 or until the works have been completed.

A25 Westerham Road eastbound Full Carriageway Closure – 12 August 2024 - 16 August 5 night time closures 20:00 to 06:00

A25 Westerham Road westbound Lane 2 Closure – 12 August – 14 August 2 night time closures 20:00 to 06:00

A21 Riverhead A25 Deck Refurb Main Works:

4 full weekend closures and weeknight overnight closures

A25 Westerham Road westbound closure and eastbound lane 2

23 September – 27 September 2024 4 night time closures 20:00 to 06:00

20 September - 23 September 2024 full weekend closure (Friday 20:00 to Monday 06:00)

27 September - 4 October 2024 A25 is open however kerbs will be conned off to allow for concrete curing.

4 October – 7 October full weekend closure (Friday 20:00 to Monday 06:00)

12 October 6am – Monday 14 October 6am - Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October 8pm to 6am over night closures to complete the temporary joint works. We are working with the A21 Safety works that are taking place during the week nights.

15 November - 17th November – full weekend closure (Friday 20:00 to Sunday 20:00)

•  Night-time closures and two weekend of full westbound carriageway closure and lane 2 closure on opposite eastbound carriageway to undertake all works on westbound carriageway and to install expansion joints up to middle of central reserve and VRS.

•  Diversion via A21 southbound to Morleys Rd roundabout and A21 northbound back up to the A21/A25 junction.

•  Traffic management must consider the right turns directly after the bridge for eastbound traffic, and design the work area and associated hardware to enable these turns to remain open and safe for road users.

14 October – 18 October 2024 4 night time closures 20:00 to 06:00

19 October – 25 October road A25 is open however kerbs will be conned off to allow for concrete curing

25 October – 28 October full weekend closure (Friday 20:00 to Monday 06:00)

28 October – 1 November Weeknight closure 20:00 to 06:00, (30th and 31st are contingency nights)

22 November to 25 November 2024 (Sunday night is a contingency) full weekend closure (Friday 20:00 to Monday 06:00)

•  Night-time closures and two weekend of full eastbound carriageway closure and lane 2 closure on opposite westbound carriageway to undertake all works on eastbound carriageway and to install expansion joints up to middle of central reserve and VRS.

•  Diversion via A21 northbound and M25 anti-clockwise to M25 Junction 4 and then M25 clock-wise and A21 southbound back to the A21/A25 junction for motorway traffic.

•  Non-motorway traffic diversion via B2211 (Chevening Road, Sundridge Road) and A224 (Morants Court Road, London Road)

Traffic management must consider the right turns directly after the bridge for westbound traffic, and design the work area and associated hardware to enable these turns to remain open and safe for road users.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A25 Westerham Road, A25 Worships Hill, A25 The Square, A25 London Road, A224 London Road, A225 Morants Court Road, B2211 Sundridge Road, B2211 Ovenden Road, B2211 Chevening Road, A25 Main Road and vice versa.

 

B258 Cray Road, Crockenhill, BR8 8LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B258 Cray Road, Crockenhill, on or after 12th August 2024 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 30.

The alternative route is via B258 Cray Road, B258 Crockenhill Road, Waldens Road, East Hall Road, Gorse Road, Skeet Hill Lane, Daltons Road, Tylers Green Road and vice versa.

 

Bore Place Road, Chiddingstone, TN8 7AN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of a new electricity connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bore Place Road, Chiddingstone, on or after 29th July 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Hickens.

The alternative route is via Bore Place Road, B2027 Tonbridge Road, Hale Oak Road, Bowzell Road, Bowzell Green, Baileys Hill Road and vice versa.

 

Brittains Lane, Sevenoaks, TN13 2NE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of UK Power Networks remedial works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Brittains Lane, Sevenoaks, on or after 12th August 2024 for up to 12 days between 08.00hrs and 18.00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Beaconfields and The Middlings.

The alternative route is via Brittains Lane, Oak Lane, A225 High Street, A224 London Road and vice versa.

 

Fawkham Road, Fawkham, DA3 8EG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fawkham Road, Fawkham, on or after 12th August 2024 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 84.

The alternative route is via Fawkham Road, B2060 Main Road, Hartley Road, Ash Road, Chapel Wood Road, Ash Road, The Street, South Ash Road, Ash Lane, A20 London Road, Fawkham Road, Brands Hatch Road, Valley Road, and vice versa.

 

Main Road, Knockholt, TN14 7LT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of UK Power Networks and Thames Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Main Road, Knockholt, on or after 29th July 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Mount Cottages and Brasted Lane.

The alternative route is via Main Road, Cudham Lane South, Cudham Lane North, A21 Sevenoaks Road, Rushmore Hill, Main Road and vice versa.

 

St Julians Road, Underriver, TN15 0JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of South East Water remedial works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Julians Road, Underriver, on or after 14th August 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside 2 Fawke Common Cottages.

The alternative route is via Fawke Wood Road, Carters Hill, St Julians Road and vice versa.

 

Stone Street, Seal, TN15 0LL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of installation of new electricity cables, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stone Street, Seal, on or after 31st July 2024 for up to 14 days between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Church Road and Pond Lane.

The alternative route is via Stone Street, Bitchet Green Road, Park Lane, Grove Road, Hall Hill and vice versa.

 

Stoneings Lane, Knockholt, TN14 7PN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of Thames Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stoneings Lane, Knockholt, on or after 12th August 2024 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Stoneings Farm.

The alternative route is via Stoneings Lane, Brasted Lane, Main Road and vice versa.

 

The Brooms, Seal, TN15 0EX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of Openreach works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Brooms, Seal, on or after 1st August 2024 for up to 1 day between 09.30hrs and 15.30hrs or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Forge Lane and Pillar Box Lane.

The alternative route is via Forge Lane, Styants Bottom Road, Pillar Box Lane and vice versa.

 

Truggers Lane, Chiddingstone Hoath, TN8 7BP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of a new water connection, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Truggers Lane, Chiddingstone Hoath, on or after 12th August 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside High Banks.

The alternative route is via Truggers Lane, Hoath Corner, Hoath Corner To Oakenden Lane, Truggers Lane To Grove Road and vice versa.

 

Underriver House Road, Underriver, TN15 0SJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

Because of a new water connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Underriver House Road, Underriver, on or after 1st August 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Coach House.

The alternative route is via Underriver House Road, Carters Hill, Mill Lane and vice versa.
