Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices
What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA
A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection & A20 Ashford Road (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection & A20 Ashford Road, on or after 29th July 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The closures will be between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only.
A20 Ashford Road, Sandling, will be closed between the junctions of B2068 Stanford Intersection and A20 Sandling Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
B2068 Stanford Intersection will be closed between the junction of A20 Ashford Road, Sandling and A20 Ashford Road, Newingreen, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A20 Ashford Road, Newingreen, will be closed between the junctions of B2068 Standford Intersection and A261 Hythe Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A20 Sandling Road, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Cheriton Interchange, B2064 Cheriton Approach, B2064 Cheriton High Street, B2064 Cheriton Road, A2034 Cheriton Road, A259 Cheriton Road, A259 Castle Hill Avenue, A259 Shorncliffe Road, A259 Earls Avenue, A259 Sandgate Road, A259 Sandgate Hill, A259 Sandgate High Street, A259 Sandgate Esplanade, A259 Seabrook Road, A259 East Street, A259 Prospect Road, A259 Rampart Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Dymchurch Road, A259 Scanlons Bridge, A261 London Road and A261 Hythe Road.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A261 Hythe Road, A261 London Road, A259 Military Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Rampart Road, A259 Prospect Road, A259 East Street, A259 Seabrook Road, A259 Sandgate Esplanade, A259 Sandgate High Street, A259 Sandgate Hill, A259 Sandgate Road, A259 Earls Avenue, A259 Shorncliffe Road, A259 Castle Hill Avenue, A259 Cheriton Road, A2034 Cheriton Road, B2064 Cheriton Road, B2054 Cheriton High Street, B2064 Cheriton Approach, A20 Cheriton Interchange, A20 Ashford Road and A20 Sandling Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
B2068 Stone Street, Stelling Minnis (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily impose a 40MPH speed limit on through traffic on part of B2068 Stone Street, Stelling Minnis, on or after 15th August 2024 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will have a mandatory 40MPH speed limit imposed, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, outside Oast House Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Moorstock Lane, Sellindge, TN25 6LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Moorstock Lane, Sellindge, on or after 29th July 2024 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from Windsor Cottages to Trust Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Moorstock Lane, Swan Lane, A20 Main Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Sussex Road, Folkestone, CT19 5SJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sussex Road, Folkestone, on or after 12th August 2024 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of A2033 Foord Road and Bradstone Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2033 Foord Road, Devon Road, Bradstone Avenue, Sussex Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Thorn Lane, Stelling Minnis, CT4 6EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Thorn Lane, Stelling Minnis, on or after 13th August 2024 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of North Leigh and B2068 Stone Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Thorn Lane, B2068 Stone Street, Wadden Hall, Gogway, Duckpit Road, Lower Waltham Road, Dean Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Victoria Road, Folkestone, CT19 5BA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Victoria Road, Folkestone, on or after 29th July 2024 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Victoria Road, Bournemouth Road, Broadmead Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Whatsole Street, Elmsted (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Whatsole Street, Elmsted, on or after 30th July 2024 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Maxted Street and Elchin Hill, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via From Whatsole Junction With Elchin Hill To Dean Bottom, Dean Bottom, Dean Hill, Thorn Lane, B2068 Stone Street, Lymbridge Green, Big Pett, Whatsole Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE)
(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 (AMENDMENT 26)
Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL intend to make the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:
The Order proposes the following parking and waiting restriction changes in New Romney:
High Street:
• Changing single yellow lines to double yellow lines between Rome Road and George Lane.
• New double yellow lines between no’s 67 and 77.
• Removal of single yellow line to create parking bays in vicinity of Library.
• Removal of coach bay to create parking bays.
• New disabled persons parking bay outside 86
• Loading bans at junction with Ashford Road, Tritton Lane.
• New double yellow lines at junction with George Lane.
Rome Road:
• Change single yellow line to double yellow line on eastern side at High Street junction.
Ashford Road:
• Loading ban at junction with High Street, both sides.
George Lane:
• New double yellow lines at junction with High Street
A copy of the proposed Order, a copy of any Orders which may be amended by it, and a statement of the council’s reasons for proposing it can be inspected during normal office hours at the Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, CT20 2QY or at https://www.folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/parking
We must receive any representations before 5pm on Friday 16th August 2024 for them to be considered. For legal reasons we cannot accept representations over the phone or in person.
