Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
CANTERBURY AREA
Black Griffin Lane & St Peters Grove, Canterbury. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow duct works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Black Griffin Lane & St Peters Grove, Canterbury.
St Peters Grove, Canterbury will be closed from 12th August 2023, with estimated completion by 22nd August 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 20.00.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via St Peters Grove.
Black Griffin Lane, Canterbury will be closed from 23rd August 2023, with estimated completion by 2nd September 2023, between the hours of 08.00 and 20.00.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Black Griffin Lane.
The One-Way Orders on St Peters Grove & Black Griffin Lane will be suspended for the duration of the works.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bullockstone Road, Herne Bay, CT6 5PX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024
To allow Section 278 works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bullockstone Road, Herne Bay, on or after 29th July 2024, for up to 19 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the former driving range entrance, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Bullockstone Road, Greenhill Road, A2990 Thanet Way, Greenhill Road, Thornden Wood Road, Owls Hatch Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Lane, Chartham, CT4 7HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow cable works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Chartham, from 16th August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the Church, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Church Lane, The Green, Station Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Garlinge Court Road, Garlinge Green, CT4 5RT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Garlinge Court Road, Garlinge Green, on or after 29th July 2024, for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Garlinge Court Farmhouse, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Garlinge Green Road, Garlinge Green, CT4 5RR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Garlinge Green Road, Garlinge Green, on or after 1st August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.30 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from approximately 115 metres west of Kenfield Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Garlinge Green Road, Chartham Downs Road, Kenfield Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hoath Road, Hoath, CT3 4JP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hoath Road, Hoath, on or after 14th August 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Rushbourne Manor, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Babs Oak Hill, A28 Staines Hill, Island Road, The Glen, Nethergong Hill, Sandpit Hill, Church Lane, Boyden Gate Hill, Highstead, Ford Hill, Maypole Road, Hoath Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Nethergong Hill, Upstreet. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JUNE 2024
To allow drainage cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Nethergong Hill, Upstreet, on or after 31st July 2024, for up to 1 day, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Nethergong Cottages and Nethergong Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Nethergong Hill, Sandpit Hill, Church Lane, Boyden Gate Hill, Highstead, Ford Hill, Maypole Lane, Maypole Road, Hoath Road, Babs Oak Hill, A28 Staines Hill, Island Road, The Glen and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Stour Street, Canterbury, CT1 2TU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024
To allow drainage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stour Street, Canterbury, on or after 29th July 2024, with estimated completion by 30th July 2024, between the hours of 08.30 and 16.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 75, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential, commercial and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Sweechgate, Broad Oak, CT2 0QH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2024
To allow cable works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sweechgate, Broad Oak, from 16th August 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 104, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Sweechgate, Shalloak Road, Vauxhall Road, A28 Sturry Road, Mill Road, A291 Sturry Hill, Herne Bay Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Barham, CT4 6NY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024
To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Barham, on or after 29th July 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Valley Road and the junction with Rectory Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic westbound is via Church Lane, Gravel Castle Road, Brickfield Road and Valley Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic eastbound is via Valley Road, Brickfield Road, Rabbit Hole and Church Lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Westwood Road, Kingston, CT4 6JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2024
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Westwood Road, Kingston, on or after 29th July 2024, for up to 4 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Little Westwood Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Westwood Road, Turks Hill, Covet Lane, Black Robin Lane, Bonny Bush Hill, The Street, Westwood Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
