Kirkby-in-Furness, Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Due To Building Repair Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5016 KIRKBY-IN-FURNESS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable building repair works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C5016 Kirkby -in-Furness, from its junction with the U5089, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 90m.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available as follows:

South East bound Traffic: via the unrestricted sections of C5016, A595 (Grizebeck), A5092 (Lowick), B5281 and King Street, Dalton Gate and Stockbridge Lane.

North West bound Traffic: via the unrestricted sections of C5016, Stockbridge Lane, Daltongate, Queen Street, A590 County Road, Brewery Street, Fountain Street, B5281 (Lowick),

A5092 (Grizebeck) and A595 (Kirkby-in-Furness).

The Order will come into operation on 8th August 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
