Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works.

What is happening?

Essex County Council

The Order came into effect on 11th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Plough Road, Great Bentley)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Plough Road, Great Bentley in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 75m south of its junction with Morella Close for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd August 2024 for 1 night (23:45-07:30), or where stated on a valid permit (KL735CC-60-62-030824 - Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while level crossing works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Plough Road, Weeley Road, Heckfords Road, Colchester Road, Colchester Road Roundabout, Little Clacton Weeley Bypass, Bovills Roundabout, Little Clacton Bypass, St Johns Roundabout, St Johns Road, Clacton Road, Bypass Road, Colchester Road, Flag Hill, Dead Lane, South Heath Road, Colles Brook Road, Plough Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 11th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(The Green, Tendring)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Green, Tendring in the District of Tendring from a point approximately 80m south east of the junction with Heath Road for a distance of approximately 85m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th July 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30056884669 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead cabling works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via Colchester Road, Thorpe Road, Colchester Road, A133, Bromley Road, High Street, Frating Road, Harwich Road, A120 and vice versa (with access only into Clacton Road, Mistley Road, Heath Road, The Green, Clacton Road, School Road, The Street, Thorpe Road and Tendring Road).

(Villa Road, Stanway)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway)

Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Villa Road, Stanway in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 115m south east of its junction with Chapel Road for a distance of 135m in a south easterly direction.
  2. To temporarily introduce a 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

"The Essex County Council (Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 29th July 2024 for 28 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2365447 — Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the new zebra crossing installation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Villa Road, London Road, Tollgate Roundabout, Tollgate Road, Church Lane and vice versa.
