What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FRENCHS CLOSE, STANSTEAD ABBOTTS) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Frenchs Close, Stanstead Abbotts from its junction with Gilpins Gallop south westwards and north westwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN WALTHAM CROSS, WARE AND CHESHUNT) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Bisley Close, Waltham Cross from its junction with Park Lane north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Bryce Close, Ware from its junction with Kingsway south eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. the service road fronting Nos.215-225 High Street, Cheshunt from its junction with Carleton Road north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

4. that length of Mill Close, Ware from its junction with Priory Street north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of Theobalds Lane, Cheshunt from its junction with B176 Crossbrook Street north westwards and south westwards to its junction with A10 Great Cambridge Road, a distance of approximately 746m.
An alternative route will be via B176 (Crossbrook Street/Turners Hill), B198 College Road and A10 Great Cambridge Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN LITTLE BERKHAMSTED, ESSENDON AND WESTMILL) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-

1. that length of Little Berkhamsted Lane, Little Berkhamsted/Berkhamsted Lane, Essendon from its junction with Little Berkhamsted Public Footpath No.017 south westwards for a distance of approximately 1300m.
An alternative route will be via Little Berkhamsted Lane, Robins Nest Hill. B158 (Lower Hatfield Road/unnamed road/Low Road/Essendon Hill/High Road), Cucumber Road and Berkhamsted Lane.

2. that length of 3U20 (unnamed road), Westmill from its junction with Aspenden Public Bridleway No.005 south eastwards to its junction with Cherry Green Lane, a distance of approximately 1295m.
An alternative route will be via 3U20 (unnamed road), Aspenden Road, London Road, A10 (unnamed road), the A10 Puckeridge Bypass/B1368 Buntingford Road roundabout, A10 (unnamed road), Station Hill, C16 (unnamed road) and 3U20 (unnamed road).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MANGROVE ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of road (“the lengths of Road”), except for access:-
1. that length of Mangrove Road, Hertford from a point 57m south west of its junction with A414 London Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 34m.
An alternative route will be via Mangrove Road, A414 (London Road/ Gascoyne Way), B158 Hale Road, Hale Road, Queens Road, Hagsdell Road and Mangrove Road.

2. that length of Mangrove Road, Hertford from its junction with Ashbourne Gardens south eastwards to its junction with Mangrove Drive, a distance of approximately 173m.
An alternative route will be via Mangrove Road, A414 London Road, B1197 (London Road/Hertford Road), A1170 Amwell Street, Amwell Street, Pauls Lane, Taverners Way, Lord Street, Goose Green Lord Street, Mangrove Lane and Mangrove Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the lengths of Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the lengths of Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHURCH GREEN, BENINGTON) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church Green, Benington from its junction with Town Lane north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Walkern Road, a distance of approximately 1832m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Walkern Road.
The Order is needed because utility works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ORCHARD ROAD, TEWIN) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Orchard Road, Tewin from its junction with Badgers Walk north westwards for a distance of approximately 40m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Orchard Road, Upper Green, Lower Green, School Lane, Churchfield Road, B1000 Hertford Road, Hertford Road, Harmer Green Lane, New Road, Harmer Green Lane and Orchard Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BURNT MILL LANE, HARLOW) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Burnt Mill Lane, Harlow from a point 40m south east of its junction with Eastwick Road south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Burnt Mill Lane, Eastwick Road, A414 Fifth Avenue and Burnt Mill Lane.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing utility pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 2 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MILL LANE, BROXBOURNE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mill Lane, Broxbourne from a point in line with the eastern boundary of ‘Ashtree Cottage’ north westwards to a point in line with the western boundary of ‘Spring House’, a distance of approximately 55m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Mill Lane, Churchfields, B194 Station Road, A1170 High Road and Mill Lane.
The Order is needed because carriageway reinstatement works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN BUNTINGFORD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be :-

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Ermine Street, Buntingford from a point 100m north west of its junction with Neale Drive south eastwards for a distance of approximately 135m.
An alternative route will be via Ermine Street, A10 Buntingford Bypass, London Road, Station Road, B1038 High Street, High Street and Ermine Street or via Ermine Street, High Street, B1038 Baldock Road, A10 Buntingford Bypass and Ermine Street.

2. To prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of B1038 Baldock Road, Buntingford from its junction with the A10 Buntingford Bypass/A507 Baldock Road roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with B1038 High Street, a distance of approximately 708m.

3. To prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of Station Road/London Road, Buntingford from its junction with B1038 High Street south eastwards to its junction with the A10 Buntingford Bypass/Keen Avenue roundabout, a distance of approximately 1077m.
The Order is needed because the construction of a new road junction is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN GOFFS OAK) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:-

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of Roads, except for access:-
a) the service road fronting Nos.75-123 Cuffley Hill, Goffs Oak from its westernmost junction with B156 Cuffley Hill south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 143m.
An alternative route will be via B156 Cuffley Hill, Jones Road and the service road fronting Nos.75-123 Cuffley Hill.
b) that length of B156 Crouch Lane, Goffs Oak from a point in line with the southern boundary of ‘Little Hennons’ northwards, eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 830m.
An alternative route will be via Crouch Lane, Newgatestreet Road, Hammondstreet Road, Argent Road and Crouch Lane or via Crouch Lane, Newgatestreet Road, St James Road, Rags Lane and Crouch Lane.

2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of B156 Cuffley Hill, Goffs Oak from a point in line with the western boundary of No.211 Cuffley Hill north eastwards for a distance of approximately 488m, when signs are in place.
The Order is needed because the renewal of existing water mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CROUCH LANE, GOFFS OAK) ORDER NO.2 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Crouch Lane, Goffs Oak from its junction with Rosebury Close south eastwards for a distance of approximately 133m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Crouch Lane, Newgatestreet Road, Hammondstreet Road, Argent Way and Crouch Lane.
The Order is needed because entrance construction works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN 3U136 (UNNAMED ROAD), WELLPOND GREEN) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of 3U136 (unnamed road), Wellpond Green from its junction with Frogs Hall Lane south eastwards to its junction with 3U40 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 355m 
(“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via 3U136 (unnamed road), A120 Stortford Road, High Street, Hadham Road and 3U40 (unnamed road).
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF NO.24 ROWLANDS CLOSE, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated on the east side of No.24 Rowlands Close, Cheshunt from its junction with Rowlands Close north westwards, south westwards, northwards and south westwards for its entire length (“the Footpath”).
There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 July 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hertingfordbury Road, Hertford from a point 87m south east of its junction with the A414 Hertingfordbury Road/Thieves Lane South roundabout south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 244m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Hertingfordbury Road, A414 Cole Green Bypass and Hertingfordbury Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 25 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHEMPSTEAD ROAD, BENINGTON/WHEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whempstead Road, Benington/Whempstead from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.68 Whempstead Road south westwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Mill Lane, a distance of approximately 1860m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Whempstead Road, Town Lane, Church Green, Walkern Road, High Street, Ware Road, A602 Ware Road and Whempstead Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 22 July 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
