Ashford Crescent (D3234) and Thetford Road (D3236) Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 17 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ashford Crescent (D3234) and Thetford Road (D3236) Ashford which extends from; a) the northwestern property boundary line of “No. 66 Ashford Crescent” to the northeastern property boundary line of “No. 70 Ashford Crescent”, b) its junction with Ashford Crescent (D3234) to the southwestern property boundary line of “No. 3 Thetford Road”.
Alternative Route – Ashford Crescent (D3234), Station Crescent (D3237) and Salcombe Road (D3236) or the same route in reverse.
This Order is required to allow Affinity Water to carry out water works, which is anticipated to be completed within 4 days, between 8:00am and 4:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 23 July 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.
Brighton Road (B2130) Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024
On 17 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Brighton Road (B2130) Godalming as extends from its junction with (D5427) Underhill Close to its junction with (D5429) Crownpits Lane. Alternative Route – Brighton Road; A3100 Flambard Way/Ockford Road; Shackstead Lane; Tuesley Lane; Park Road; The Drive; Hambledon Road; and Brighton Road. The Order is required to facilitate telegraph pole replacement works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of I and A Communications and/or BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried over 2 days between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 30 July 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, the emergency service, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
A309 Claygate Roundabout, Hichley Wood and D3837 Walton Park, Walton-on-Thames Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway surfacing and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 August 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. For part 2 below: to facilitate the diversion route, the order restricting heavy commercial vehicles on Oaklawn Road and Oxshott Road will be suspended.

Various Roads in Runnymede Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024
On 17 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 weeks, between the hours of 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday only, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 29 July 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Green Street (C230) Sunbury On Thames Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 17 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Green Street (C230) Sunbury On Thames as extends from its junction with (X2075) Heritage Close to its junction with (D6243) The Ridings. Alternative Route: Green Street, (A308) Staines Road East, The Avenue, Manor Lane, and Green Street, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate mobile crane works for, or on behalf of Nationwide Traffic Solutions. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, between the hours of 7am and 6pm during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 31 July 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Gresham Road (C243) Staines Upon Thames Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 17 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Gresham Road (C243) Staines Upon Thames as extends from its junction with (D3288) Chiltern Close to its junction with (X243) Cotswold Close. Alternative Route: Gresham Road, (B376) Laleham Road, (B376) Thames Street, (A308) South Street, (A308) High Street, and Kingston Road, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to facilitate the use of a cherry picker to enable telecom mast maintenance and repair works for, or on behalf of Chevron TM. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 10am and 3.30pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 29 July 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times, as machinery will be moved if required. Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
Renfree Way (B375) Shepperton Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 17 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Renfree Way (B375) Shepperton. Alternative Route: Church Road and Chertsey Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate mobile crane works for, or on behalf of Paragon Traffic Management Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 weeks, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 01 August 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
Brook Lane (D222) Albury Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 17 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Brook Lane (D222) Albury which extends between the eastern property boundary of “Faraway Cottage” and a point 80m west of the western arm of X222 Brook Lane Access to Oak and Elm Cottage, and any parts thereof. This Order is required to enable UKPN to facilitate new customer connection works and/or electrical works, which is anticipated to be completed within 5 days, between 8am and 6pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 22 July 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Alternative Route – New Road, Park Road and Little London or vice versa.
Various Roads in Puttenham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 17 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate speed limit installation and lining works and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be completed within 2 weeks, between 7am and 7pm, as soon as possible within the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 22 July 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Stonehill Road (D3045) Ottershaw Temporary Speed Limit Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be; a) to prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding at a speed greater than 30 MPH in that length of; (a) Stonehill Road (D3045) Ottershaw as extends from its junction with (B386) Longcross Road to its junction with (D3045) Accommodation Road; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Various Roads in Runnymede and Surrey Heath (40mph and 50mph Speed Limit) Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road described in Part (a) of this Notice. This Temporary Traffic Order is required to maintain the safety of event traffic for, or on behalf of The Combined Service Provider. These restrictions are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, within the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 14 August 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary speed limit which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 or in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.
Kenilworth Road (D3234) Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Management Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily; (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Kenilworth Road (D3234) Ashford as it extends from a point in line with the common boundary between No.80 and No.82 Kenilworth Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.86 and the rear access to No.423 London Road; (b) prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading and unloading at any time on both sides of that length of Kenilworth Road (D3234) Ashford as it extends from a point in line with the common boundary between No.80 and No.82 Kenilworth Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.86 and the rear access to No.423 London Road; (c) suspend “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in the Borough of Spelthorne) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order No.3 2023” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in Part (a) and (b) of this Notice. This Order is required to facilitate new sewer connection works for, or on behalf of NG Tunnelling. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order that commences on 12 August 2024.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure and restriction, which are anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, and the suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and to the extent indicated by those traffic signs. For sub-paragraph (a) above: Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for the emergency services and all other traffic will be via the signed diversion route. Alternative Route: (i) Kenilworth Road, Avondale Road, and (A30) London Road; (ii) (A30) London Road, (B378) Stanwell Road, and Kenilworth Road. For sub-paragraphs (b) and (c) above: Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).
Various Roads in the Borough of Guildford (Guildford 10k Event) (Temporary Traffic Measures) Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order, pursuant to Sections 16A and 16B of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles and persons riding, leading or driving horses or any other animals, from entering or proceeding along those lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice, or any parts thereof. The Order will come into effect on 10 August 2024, for a period of two days and is required to facilitate the holding of an event on the highway, namely the Guildford 10k running event. The temporary closure will not apply to such vehicles being used in connection with the said event, or to anything done on the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any sign placed by Surrey Police. Emergency access will be maintained for the police, fire brigade and ambulance services and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic. The Council are satisfied that, in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road to which this Order relates, or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, vehicular access to premises situated in the aforesaid lengths of roads, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted, save as indicated above.
The prohibition will only be operative while the relevant signs are displayed, though it is anticipated that the closure will only take effect between 7am and 9.30am on 11 August, save that High Street between Quarry Street and North Street will be closed from 6pm on 10 August until 10am on 11 August. The existing prohibition of traffic in the said length of High Street and the one-way driving restriction in Market Street, imposed by The County Council of Surrey (Guildford) (Traffic Regulation) Order 1987 (as amended) will be suspended whilst this Order operates. Access for pedestrians will be unaffected. The Council are also satisfied that the event to which the Order relates cannot be held otherwise than on a road. Traffic will be diverted via the A247 and the A3.

Thorpe Road (B3376) Staines-Upon-Thames Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Thorpe Road (B3376) Staines-Upon-Thames which extends from its junction with Wendover Road to its junction with Old School Mews, and any parts thereof. This Order is required to enable SGN to facilitate gas works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 month, between 8am and 5pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 5 August 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Alternative Route – The Causeway, The Avenue, Vicarage Road and Thorpe Lea Road or vice versa.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1 & 2)
Public Bridleway No. 8 (Woking) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022
The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway No. 8 (Woking) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022 was made by reason of danger to the public due to subsidence caused by badger sett activity.
The Order came into operation on 21 February 2022 and was due to expire on 30 July 2022. It was extended by the Secretary of State for Transport until 30 July 2023. It was then extended for a 2nd time until 30 July 2024. It has now been extended for a third time until 30 January 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on horseback from entering or proceeding along Bridleway No.8 (Woking) between Chobham Road (Grid ref. 496519 159592) and its junction with Bridleway 394 (Woking).
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The is no alternative route for traffic on horseback. Traffic on foot is unaffected.
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) & (2)
Public Footpath 53 (Sunbury) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 11 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of that length of Public Footpath No.53 (Sunbury) which extends from Point A (Grid reference: 509192 167690) in an easterly, south easterly, south westerly direction, via Point C to its junction with Fordbridge Road at point B (Grid reference: 509347 167351) and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/86/H22.
The Order is necessary to ensure public safety during extraction works on site.
The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 17 July 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the point A will be to walk in a straight line in a southerly direction to point B. The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 53 (Sunbury) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
