Various Roads, Yeovil in the Parishes of Yeovil and Barwick & Stoford
(Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that on the 12th day of July 2024 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 4th day of July 2024, to introduce temporary traffic restrictions on the roads specified in the Schedules below.

This Order will come into operation on the 18th day of July 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months.

The Works are expected to commence on the 22nd July 2024 until the 30th November 2024 to enable the appointed contractor, Taylor Woodrow, to carry out preconstruction activities and to facilitate the permanent works.

The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

South Western Terrace, Yeovil - For its entire length

Central Road, Yeovil - From the signalised junctions with Middle Street and South Western Terrace in a north westerly direction to the entrance to the Bus Station

Middle Street, Yeovil - For its entire length

Schedule 2
Temporary One Way

Old Station Road, Yeovil (Westbound only) - From its junction with South Western Terrace in a westerly direction to the signalised junctions with Stars Lane and Summer House Terrace

Newton Road, Yeovil (Southbound only) - From its junction with South Western Terrace in a southerly direction to its junction with Two Tower Lane

Central Road, Yeovil (Southeasterly only) - From the signalised junctions with Middle Street and South Western Terrace in a north westerly direction to the entrance to the Bus Station

Statement of reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
