(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Street, Earls Colne in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 290m south east of the junction with Queens Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st August 2024 for 2 nights (21:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310754243 -Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via A12, A133, Station Way, Northern Approach Road, Wildeve Avenue, Nayland Road, The Causeway, Nayland Road, Horkesley Hill, Nayland Bypass, Horkesley Hill, Harpers Hill, Honey Tye, Nayland Road, Colchester Road, Further Street, Assington Road, Sudbury Road, Newton Road, Northern Road, Springlands Way, A131 and vice versa (with access only into Colchester Road, Parley Beams, Stonebridge Hill, Halstead Road, High Street, Church Hill, Upper Holt Street, Lower Holt Street, Colneford Hill, Colchster Road, Tybury Hill, Colchester Road, Halstead Road, Ford Street, Fordstreet Hill and Halstead Road).
The Order came into effect on 11th July 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
