THE CROYDON (ON-STREET CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (NO.15) ORDER 2024

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Croydon on the 15 July 2024 made the above-mentioned Orders under Section 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers.

2. (a) The general effect of the Orders will be to make permanent the experimental prohibitions on any motorised vehicle entering the streets/sections of streets listed below during the periods between 8am and 9.30am and 2pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday, with an exemption for those holding a valid permit in relation to the pedestrian zone in that street/section of street, issued by the Council.

  • (b) The effect of the Orders will also be to make permanent the removal of a 5-metre length of permit/payment parking bay outside No. 27 Birchanger Road and replace it with double yellow lines.

    (c) The Orders will also amend the map-based tiles to the Schedules attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the permanent arrangements as they exist on site.

    (d) The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used for police, ambulance, or fire service purposes, to liveried vehicles providing a universal postal service or to vehicles in the service of the local authority being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.

    3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 23 July 2024, and of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing the schemes and of the plans which indicate the lengths of road to which the schemes relate, can be inspected from 9am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at the "Access Croydon" Facility, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA. Copies of the Order may also be obtained from the Parking Design Team (parking.design@croydon.gov.uk).

    4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

    CROYDON COUNCIL

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS HALING PARK ROAD. SOUTH CROYDON TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PARKING

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas disconnection works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit parking in Haling Park Road, South Croydon.

    2. Whilst the said works are taking place, parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time in the free parking bay on the north-west (even-numbered) side of Haling Park Road outside Nos. 18 and 20a Haling Park Road.

    3. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

    (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    4. The Order will come into operation on 18 July 2024, and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out in 10 days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS STOATS NEST ROAD. COULSDON TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate carriageway re­surfacing works they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic movements in Stoats Nest Road.

    2. Whilst the said works are taking place Stoats Nest Road will be closed between its junctions with Windermere Road and Stoats Nest Village.

    3. During the closure the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below.

    * Via Brighton Road, A22 Whyteleaffe Hill, Whyteleaffe Road, and Burntwood Lane.

    * Via Brighton Road, Farthing Way, Marlpit Lane, and Stoneyfield Road

    * Via Stoneyfield Road, Marlpit Lane, Farthing Way, and Brighton Road

    4. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said work.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    5. The Order will come into operation on 20 July 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS SUMNER ROAD SOUTH. CROYDON TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate cabling works on behalf of UKPN, they have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Sumner Road South.

    2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

    a) Sumner Road South will be closed between its junction with Onslow Road and the common boundary of Nos. 161 and 163 Sumner Road South.

    b) The south-eastern footway of Sumner Road South will be closed outside No. 159 Sumner Road South.

    3. During the closure, the alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Onslow Road, Kingsley Road, Chapman Road, Euston Road, Sumner Road South and vice versa. Pedestrians will be diverted to the opposite footway.

    4. The Order will come into operation on 22 July 2024, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 26 July 2024. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

    5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any person or vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

    (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS THE BRIDLE ROAD & THE SOUTH BORDER. PURLEY TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in The Bridle Road and The South Border, Purley.

    2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

    a) The Bridle Road will be closed at its junction with Foxley Lane.

    b) The South Border will be closed at its junction with Foxley Lane.

    c) Vehicles proceeding in Foxley Lane will be banned from turning into The Bridle Road and The South Border.

    3. During the closure the diversion routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below. Access will be maintained for residents.

    * The Bridle Road closure: Diversion via Woodcote Drive, Peaks Hill, Plough Lane, Foxley Lane, and Plough Lane.

    * The South Border closure: Diversion via Foxley Lane, Woodcote Lane, Rose Walk, Foxley Lane, and Furze Lane.

    4. The Order will come into operation on 22 July 2024, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 02 September 2024. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extents as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

    5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

    (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS CLIFTON ROAD. SOUTH NORWOOD TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate telecom works on behalf of Vodafone, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic movements in Clifton Road, South Norwood.

    2. Whilst the said works are taking place Clifton Road will be closed at its junction with Selhurst Road.

    3. During the closure the alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Selhurst Road, Prince Road, Clifton Road and reversed, as appropriately signposted.

    4. The Order will come into operation on 05 August 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out in five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

    5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

    (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
