Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Lowton Road Golborne) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Lowton Road Golborne during the period of one day commencing on 24th October 2024 from 09:30 to 14:30.

The alternative route for traffic is: Church Lane, Newton Road, Golborne Dale Road, Warrington Road, Bridge Street, High Street and Church Street.

The Order is necessary to allow to facilitate plant delivery.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Leigh No. 199, 200, 204, 224, 225) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024 which will come into operation on 15th July 2024.

No person shall, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable use:

Leigh No. 199 from Point A as shown on the Order Map at its junction with public footpaths Leigh 197 and 198 at grid reference 365995 399101 in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 54 metres to Point B at grid reference 365984 399051 as shown on the Order Map.

Leigh No. 200 from Point B as shown on the Order Map at its junction with public footpath Leigh 199 and 204 at grid reference 365984 399051 in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 419 metres to Point C at grid reference 366386 398949 as shown on the Order Map.

Leigh No. 204 from Point B on the Order Map at its junction with public footpath Leigh No. 199 and 200 at grid reference 365984 399051 in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 275 metres to Point D at grid reference 365949 398783 as shown on the Order Map.

Leigh No. 224 from Point E on the Order Map at its junction with public footpath Leigh No. 203 and 223 at grid reference 365800 398775 in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 150 metres to Point F at grid reference 365949 398783 as shown on the Order Map.

Leigh No. 225 from Point F on the Order Map at its junction with public footpath Leigh No. 204 and 224 at grid reference 365949 398783 in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 472 metres to Point G at grid reference 366420 398818 as shown on the Order Map.

Alternative routes are available through that shown on the Order Map between Point H and I, plus the existing public footpaths.

The Order will be in effect for a period of six months commencing on 15th July 2024 to safeguard the public whilst maintenance works are carried out by United Utilities at the Leigh Waste Water Treatment Works.
