What is happening?
CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after seven days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:
Benwick Road (B1093), Whittlesey
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-824
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Benwick Road (B1093), Whittlesey as lies between Turningtree Road and Wype Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1093 – B1096 – B1040 – A605 and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5 August and 16 September 2024.
Bassenhally Road and Drybread Road, Whittlesey
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-830
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Bassenhally Road and Drybread Road, Whittlesey as lies between Otago Road and Cemetery Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via Coronation Avenue – A605 – Cemetery Road and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate speed calming features, lining and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between
07:00hrs and 17:00hrs 5 August to 9 August 2024.
Coalwharf Road, Wisbech
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1022
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Coalwharf Road, Wisbech as lies between Car Park and Somers Road. The alternative route for vehicles is via Somers Road – B198 – Coalwharf Road and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate plant replacement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5 August and 23 August 2024.
Lake Drove, Coates
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1027
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Lake Drove, Coates as lies
between Fieldside and 95m west. The alternative route for vehicles is via Cross Drove – March Road, Turves – A605 – South Green, Coates and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gas connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5 August and 9 August 2024.
Fen Road and Long Road, Parson Drove
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1034
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Fen Road and Long Road, Parson Drove as lies between number 71 and the telephone exchange;
Fen Drove and Oaklea Holme respectively. The alternative route for vehicles is via Long Drove – Black Drove, Murrow – A47 – B1187 and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate manhole maintenance and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 12 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 11 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:00hrs and 16:00hrs 12 August to 13 August 2024.
Fenland Way (A141), Chatteris
(TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024-1050
Is to impose a 40mph speed limit along Fenland Way (A141), Chatteris as lies between Aldi and Tesco roundabouts. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate development and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 31 January 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 1 August 2024 and 31 January 2026.
Station Street, Chatteris
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1071
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Street, Chatteris as lies between Burnsfield Street and Wimpole Street. The alternative route for vehicles is via Station Street – Clare Street – Huntingdon Road – West Park Street (C332) – Station Road and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 5 August and 9 August 2024.
Lake Drove, Coates
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1105
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Lake Drove, Coates as lies
between number 94 and Fieldside. The alternative route for vehicles is via Cross Drove – March Road, Turves – A605 – South Green, Coates and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and
associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 20 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 19 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20 August and 22 August 2024.
Orchard Street (B1050), Whittlesey
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1115
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Orchard Street (B1050), Whittlesey as lies between the A605 and Claygate. The alternative route for vehicles is via A605 – Cemetery Road – Bassenhally Road – Delph and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate resurfacing, lining and
associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 27 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 26 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 27 August and 30 August 2024.
Harecroft Road, Wisbech
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1132
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Harecroft Road, Wisbech as lies between Summerfield Close and the A1101. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1101 – B1542 – Harecroft Road and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway patching and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 14 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 16 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 14 August and 16 August 2024.
Elm Road, Wisbech
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1133
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Elm Road, Wisbech as lies between the A1101 and West Street. The alternative route for vehicles is via West Street – Church Terrace – A1101 – Elm Road and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway patching and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 19 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 18 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 19 August and 21 August 2024.
Elliott Road, March
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1134
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Elliott Road, March as lies between Yarrow Close and Truman Avenue. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1099 – Peas Hill Road, Elliott Road and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate sewer connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 12 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 11 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 12 August and 21 August 2024.
Norwood Road, March
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1136
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Norwood Road, March as lies between Hundred Road and Gresley Way. The alternative route for vehicles is via Hundred Road – Melbourne Avenue – Hostmoor Avenue – A141 – B1099 – Norwood Road and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway patching and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 5 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 4 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between
09:00hrs and 16:30hrs 5 August to 6 August 2024.
Creek Road (C73), March
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2024-1137
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Creek Road (C73), March as lies between Riverdown and March Close. The alternative route for vehicles is via Estover Road – B1101 – Creek Road and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway patching and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 August 2024 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 August and 7 August 2024.
Station Road (B1093), Whittlesey
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024-1145
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road (B1093), Whittlesey as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1093 – A605 – B1040 – Great Whyte, Ramsey – B1096 – B1093 and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 23 August 2024 and continue until these works
have finished or on the 22 February 2026 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 20:00hrs and 10:00hrs 23 August to 25 August 2024. Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
