What is happening?

(BALGREEN ROAD AREA)
(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024 – TEMP/24/135
The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate a safe working area for ducting works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on: (i) Baird Drv, from the eastern kerbline of Balgreen Rd, north-eastwards for 20m; & (ii) Balgreen Rd, from Stevenson Drv to Saughtonhall Drv; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of: (i) Balgreen Rd, from the north-western kerbline of Stevenson Rd, north-westwards to its jnct with Glendevon Rd; & (ii) Saughtonhall Drv, from its jnct with Balgreen Rd, northwards to the south property boundary of Nos. 137/139. Existing restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in (b).
The alternative routes for vehicular traffic are via: (i) Baird Drv – Baird Grv, Saughtonhall Ave & Saughtonhall Drv; & (ii) Balgreen Rd – Corstorphine Rd, St John’s Rd, Meadow Pl Rd (B701), Calder Rd (A71), Stenhouse Rd & Gorgie Rd.
The order shall have effect from 24/7/24 to 13/8/24.
