UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(VARIOUS ROADS IN THE PARISHES OF ENGLEFIELD AND THEALE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, WAITING, PARKING, AND 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Englefield Road between its junction with Pangbourne Road (A340) and its junction with Deadmans Lane. This order further prohibits waiting and parking over The Street along its entire length.
Furthermore, a 30mph speed restriction will be in force along the following roads – Common Road, between its junctions with Pangbourne Road (A340) and Union Road. Pangbourne Road (A340), between its junctions with Chalkpit Farm Road and the A4 Roundabout.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by Englefield Road closure is via Church Street, The Green and Pangbourne Road (A340) and vice versa.
The purpose of this order is to facilitate the safe and efficient access and egress to concert events at the Englefield Estate. The proposed Order will come into effect on 15th July 2024. It is envisaged that the closure and above-mentioned restrictions will be in place between 19th and 23rd July 2024.
(STATION ROAD, KINTBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Station Road in Kintbury between its junction with Mill Bank and its junction with Inkpen Road. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via High Street, Hungerford Road, Park Street, A338 High Street, A338 Bridge Street, A4 Charnham Street, A4 Bath Road, Station Road and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Gigaclear to install fibre cables. The proposed Order will come into effect on 15th July 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place Monday to Friday’s only between 15th and 29th July 2024.
(STREATLEY HILL, STREATLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Streatley Hill in Streatley between its junction with The Coombe and its junction with Lewendon Hill. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via B4009 Streatley Hill, A329 Wallingford Road, A417, B4493, A4185, A34, A339 to A339 Robin Hood Roundabout, B4009 toward Streatley and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out tree pruning around their network. The proposed Order will come into effect on 29th July 2024.
It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 09:30 and 15:30 on 29th July 2024.
(ENBORNE STREET IN THE PARISHES OF HAMSTEAD MARSHALL AND ENBORNE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Enborne Street in the Parishes of Hamstead Marshall and Enborne between its junction with Redhill and its junction with Vanners Lane. The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via
Redhill, Wheatlands La, Vanners La, and vice versa. The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Thames Water to carry out maintenance and repair works. The proposed Order will come into effect on 29th July 2024. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 30th July and 1st August 2024.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
