What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

ASHFORD AREA

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGH OF ASHFORD)
(VARIOUS TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2020
(AMENDMENT No.4) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3, 4, 19, 65(1) and 124 of Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 as amended and all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles to turn left or right and entre the bus gate except for buses, taxis, cycles (and emergency vehicles when on call) on the following length of roads in Ashford:-

BEAVER ROAD - Change of existing prohibition to as above. BRIDGE BETWEEN BLUEBELL ROAD & HERDWICK CLOSE/FINN FARM ROAD – Change of existing prohibition to vehicles to as above. CARLTON ROAD - Banned left hand turn in to Sackville Crescent (over railway bridge). FINN FARM ROAD - Banned left hand turn into the road over bridge to Bluebell Road. GODFERY WALK – Banned left hand turn into Beaver Road. HERDWICK CLOSE - Banned right hand turn into the road over bridge to Bluebell Road. KINGS AVENUE – Banned right turn into Sackville Crescent (over railway bridge). SACKVILLE CRESCENT – Banned left hand turn into Sackville Crescent (over railway bridge). SOUTH STOUR AVENUE – Banned left hand turn into Beaver Road.

The Order was made on 25 July 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 26 July 2024.

A full statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, a plan indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the made Order may be examined at Kroner House, Eurogate Business Park, Ashford, Kent TN24 8XU by appointment booked through tro@kent.gov.uk or viewed online from 26 July 2024 at www.kent.gov.uk/highwaysconsultations

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.

 

DARTFORD AREA

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL

(SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER
(AMENDMENT NO.1) ORDER 2022

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as the Act) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby Make the following order.

The effect of the order will reduce the current speed limit from 30MPH to 20MPH on the following lengths of roads in Pinewood, Dartford:-

ABBEY DRIVE, ANDREWS PLACE, ANVIL TERRACE, CALVERT DRIVE, COOPERS DRIVE, FRANKLIN ROAD, PINEWOOD PLACE, RADZAN CLOSE, SANDRINGHAM DRIVE, WESSEX WALK and WILLIAMS WAY – For their entire length.

The Order was made on 25 July 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 26 July 2024.

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL

(SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2022
(AMENDMENT NO.5) ORDER 2024

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as the Act) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby Make the following order.

The effect of the Order would be to extend the existing 30mph speed limit on the following length of road in Southfleet, Dartford:-

HOOK GREEN ROAD – From the western property boundary of 1 Hook Green Road for a distance of 394 metres in a south westerly direction.

And to reduce the existing speed limit on the following length of roads in Swanscombe, Dartford:-

ATLANTIC CLOSE, CASPIAN WAY, CRAYLANDS SQUARE, PACIFIC CLOSE and PENTSTEMON DRIVE – For their entire length. CRAYLANDS LANE – From a point 220 metres north west of its junction with Milton Road to its junction with London Road.

These orders where originally advertised as Amendment 16 for Southfleet and Amendment 17 for Swanscombe but due to a recent consolidation order they have been renamed as above.

The Order was made on 25 July 2024 and its provisions will come into effect on 26 July 2024.
