What is happening?

(Worthing: Rectory Road)
(Temporary Prohibition of Left Turns) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit all traffic from making a left turn from Rectory Road onto Littlehampton Road in Worthing.

This restriction is needed to maintain safety while a new gas main is installed under the carriageway of the left turn filter lane of the affected junction.

The Order will come into effect on 22 July 2024 and remain in force until 31 July 2024. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Worthing: York Road)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close York Road in Worthing from its junction with Alfred Place, southwards to its junction with Marine Parade. The road closure is needed to allow drainage improvement works to be carried out in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 5 August 2024 and remain in force until 12 August 2024. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times. (Worthing: Marine Place)
(Temporary Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily remove the loading bay outside no. 20 Marine Place and replace it with a restriction prohibiting waiting at all times. This temporary restriction is needed to maintain safe access along the road while site hoarding is in place to facilitate re-development of the former Debenhams building.

The Order will come into effect on 7 August 2024 and remain in force for 18 months, after which an extension may be necessary. Any queries about the effect of the Order on traffic using the highway should be directed to the WSCC Contact Centre, telephone number 01243 642105.
