What is happening?

CROSSING, SNAITH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Selby Road Level
Crossing, Snaith for 20 metres either side of the level
crossing from Monday 22 July 2024 22.30 hours until 05.30 hours on Tuesday 23 July 2024.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed annual level crossing maintenance works, to be
carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed 23 July 2024.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Shelby Road, Shearburn Terrace, Pontefract Road, Gowdall Broach, Broach Road, Broach Lane, Weeland Road, Eggborough By-pass, Eggborough
By-pass to Chapel Haddlesey, Chapel Haddlesey to Burn, Main Road, Doncaster Road, Selby By-pass, Bawtry Road, Camblesforth Road, Brigg Lane, Station Road, High Street, River Aire to Carlton. The road will be closed to all traffic. The Order will commence 22 July 2024, and continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
