Highways Notice

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Various Roads in Macclesfield

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

Prohibition of traffic – The Silk Road, Prestbury – For the full extent.

The Silk Road, Macclesfield – For the full extent.
The Silk Road, Bollington – For the full extent.

For diversions and specific dates please visit one.network.

This order will come into operation on Monday 29 July 2024 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Thursday 31 October 2024.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS
Public Footpath No. 7 Parish of Macclesfield Forest

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No. 7 in the Parish of Macclesfield Forest, which commences at OS grid reference SJ 9561 7250 and runs in a generally westerly, then southerly direction for approximately 812 metres to OS grid reference SJ 9512 7224

The closure is necessary to protect the public from a partially collapsed and dangerous building.

The Order continues the restriction that came into force on 27th June 2024 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months.

No alternative route is available.
