Marcham Parish, A338 Wantage Road
Reduced Speed Limit
Date of Order: 15/07/2024
Coming into force: 22/07/2024
This Order is being introduced because of repairs to the bridge over the River Ock. The speed of vehicles will be reduced from the national 60mph limit to 30mph in that part of the A338 at "Noah's Ark" (south of Frilford) between Mumby's Live-In Care and The School House. A short section at the central work area will be reduced to 10mph. Works are anticipated to be completed 12 September 2024. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14000/AC)

Sonning Common, Widmore Lane
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 29/07/2024
Coming into force: 06/08/2024
This Order is being introduced because of sewer connection works that is anticipated to take 15 days to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the part of Widmore Lane at RG4 9WH. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via Widmore Lane - Pond End Road - Churchill Crescent -Blounts Court Road and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14139/MR)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Garford, Unnamed Garford Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 15/07/2024
Coming into force: 21/07/2024
This Order is being introduced to enable the setup of a compound adjacent to the A338 for work to Noahs Ark Bridge over the river Windrush which is anticipated to be completed on 25 October 2024.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding through the junction off the A338 into/from the northernmost Garford turn southwest of Noahs Ark bridge. The main A338 will remain open under two-way traffic signals. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works. The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is via the southernmost Garford turn.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T14275/AC)

(LONG WITTENHAM PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that on 15 July 2024 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 22 July amends speed limits in Long Wittenham as follows:
A. 30mph speed limit:
1. Long Wittenham Road - extend the 30mph speed limit northwards by an additional 55 metres,
2. Little Wittenham Road - a new 250 metre buffer limit in place of the 60mph National speed limit, eastwards from the existing 20mph speed limit, adjacent to the Nature Reserve car park.
B. 40mph speed limit:
3. Long Wittenham Road -replacing the 60mph National speed limit between the 30mph limit at Clifton Hampden & the extended 30mph at Long Wittenham.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Long Wittenham Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2021 is revoked/replaced.
