Melton Road - Temporary Restrictions To Carriageway Resurfacing Works

THE LEICESTER (MELTON ROAD) (TEMPORARY) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicester City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be, for the following anticipated period of time to:
Prohibit the movement of all vehicles on Melton Road between its junctions with Leire Street and with Loughborough Road from 6.00am on Saturday 27th July 2024 until 11.59pm on Friday 2nd August 2024.
Diversion route: Watermead Way, Red Hill Circle, Abbey Lane, Abbey Park Road, Belgrave Road.
Prohibit the movement of all vehicles from 6.00am on Saturday 27th July 2024 until 11.59pm on Friday 2nd August 2024 on the following sections of highway and extents:
Jermyn Street between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres east thereof.
Shaftesbury Avenue between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres west thereof.
Broadhurst Street between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres east thereof.
Lexham Street between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres west thereof.
Canon Street between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres east thereof.
Ratcliffe Street between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres west thereof.
Moira Street between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres east thereof.
Herbert Avenue between its junction with Melton Road and with Wingfield Street.
Acorn Street between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres east thereof.
Portsmouth Road between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres west thereof.
Down Street between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres east thereof.
Halkin Street between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres east thereof.
Doncaster Road between its junction with Melton Road and a point 30 metres east thereof.
Suspend existing one-way restriction from 6.00am on Saturday 27th July 2024 until 11.59pm on Friday 2nd August 2024 on the following sections of highway and extents:
Jermyn Street between its junctions with Melton Road and with Portman Street.
Canon Street between its junctions with Melton Road and with Portman Street.
Moira Street in its entirety.
Acorn Street in its entirety.
Portsmouth Road in its entirety.
Down Street in its entirety.
Halkin Street between its junctions with Melton Road and with Harrison Road.
Doncaster Road between its junctions with Melton Road and with Harrison Road.
This order is necessary due to carriageway resurfacing works taking place and to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public.
This Order will come into effect on the 27th July 2024 and will continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the order is no longer deemed necessary, whichever is the earlier.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
