(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) ORDER 2024

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Steventon area Traffic Management

Date of Order: 15/07/2024

Coming into force: 25/07/2024

This Order is being introduced on the grounds of public safety associated with the Steventon Truck Festival organised by Truck Festivals Ltd, C/O Superstruct Entertainment Limited, 364-366 Kensington High Street, London, W14 8NS. The traffic measures will be in place variously from 25th July to 29th July with the following effects:

From 8:00am 25th July to 4:00pm 29th July:

ROAD CLOSURES

a) Featherbed Lane - entire length, Road Closure from junction of A417 Reading Road to junction of Abingdon Road;

b) Church Lane & The Causeway from the junction at South West end of Church Lane (unnamed road) to junction of Saint Michaels Way;

c) Stocks Lane - entire Length, from junction with the Causeway to junction with Castle Street;

ONE-WAY TRAFFIC

d) The Causeway & St Michaels Way One-Way from the junction of High Street & The Causeway south-westwards to the junction of Stocks Lane, and northwards on St. Michaels Way to Hanney Road;

SPEED REDUCTIONS

e) Abingdon Road - from the junction of High Street to south of the Pack Horse Inn PH Speed reduced from 60 to 30mph;

f) A417 Reading Road - From 30 metres west of the junction with Featherbed Lane to the end of 40mph zone eastbound Speed reduced from 40 to 30mph;

TRAFFIC CONTROLS

g) There will be stop-go board control as required at Church Lane rail crossing, the Abingdon Road junction with Featherbed Lane, Rowstock roundabout and at the event;

h) There will be temporary traffic signals at the A417/ Featherbed Lane junction, and Manual control of existing traffic signals at peak times at the A4130/B4017 junction.

i) There will be temporary traffic signals on the Abingdon Road at the exit gate.

The alternative route for traffic wishing to avoid the event is via the A417 and A338, or the A417 and A4130.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for access.

This Order will remain in force for the duration of the traffic arrangements associated with the event.

The Oxfordshire County Council (A417 Wantage - Reading Road and Ardington, Lockinge, East Hendred and West Hendred Parishes) (Speed Limits) Order 2023 will be temporarily suspended in relation to f) above. (Ref: S24-010)
