What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC000139326454: The City of Manchester (Alan Turing Way, Clayton & Openshaw Ward) Temporary Closure of cycle lane) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: Alan Turing Way, From Junction of Gibbon Street to junction of Ashton New Road on both sides of the road.
The City Council is satisfied that the prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate new electricity cable installation. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 29th July 2024 to 9th September 2024.
The order shall come into operation on 29th July 2024and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months.
If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

ORDER NO. MCC139518384: The City of Manchester (Queens Road, Miles Platting & Newton Heath Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Queens Road 20m either side of bridge MVM/15B.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: Queens Road, Scropton Street, Rochdale Road, Addington Street, Oldham Road and vice versa.
The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Detailed bridge examination. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 29th July 2024 to 30th July 2024 between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00.
The order shall come into operation on 29th July 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
