A749 Glasgow Road, East Kilbride Temporary Road Closure Order No 1. 2024

South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-

This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council, A749 Glasgow Road, East Kilbride, Temporary Road Closure Order No 1, 2024” and shall come into operation at 7.00am on 10 August 2024 and will remain in operation till 11.59pm on 11 August 2024. 

The restrictions will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. 

Whilst this order remains in force no person shall park, drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the section of road specified in Schedule 1 by reason of South Lanarkshire Council to undertaking carriageway resurfacing works. 

Schedule 1 – Temporary Road Closure 

South bound dual carriageway (travelling towards East Kilbride) between the B759 Greenlees Road and the Roundabout at Stewartfield Way. 

Alternative Routes are via

A730 Cathkin Bypass, A730 Willow Boulevard (Cathkin Relief Road), A730 Fernhill Road, A730 Mill Street, B768 Main Street Rutherglen, A724 Cambuslang Road, A724 Glasgow Road, A724 Main Street Cambuslang, A724 Hamilton Road, A724 Glasgow Road Blantyre, A725 East Kilbride Expressway, A749 Kingsway, A749 East Kilbride Road and the B759 Greenlees Road.
