What is happening?
(COOLING ROAD, CLIFFE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a telephone pole to be safety removed and replaced -
Cooling Road, Cliffe - to be closed to all vehicular traffic adjacent to 1 Cooling Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via The Street, Common Lane and Reed Street.
This Order will come into force on Thursday, 18 July 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
The works are due to commence on or after Thursday, 18 July 2024 and are programmed for completion within one day (with works taking place between 9.30am and 3.30pm. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(CLIFFE ROAD AREA, STROOD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable traffic in Frindsbury Road to operate under temporary traffic lights whilst gas main maintenance works are carried out -
Goddington Road and Grove Road – both roads to be closed to all vehicular traffic from the junction with Frindsbury Road for a distance of 50 metres. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. Alternative routes will be provided and signed as the works progress. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
This Order will come into force on Monday, 22 July 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 22 July 2024 and are programmed for completion within five weeks. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(GRAIN ROAD AND CHAPEL ROAD, GRAIN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable carriageway resurfacing to be carried out -
Grain Road and Chapel Road, Grain - to be closed to all vehicular traffic (a) in Grain Road (B2001) from the junction with Chapel Road for a distance of 150 metres in a westerly direction and the junction with Pannell Road in a northerly direction; and in Chapel Road from the junction with Grain Road for a distance of 50 metres in an easterly direction. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be provided and signed. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 20 August 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 20 August 2024 and are programmed for completion within one day (with works taking place between 8am and 5pm). The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

Barnsole Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 147 Barnsole Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Gillingham Road, Nelson Road, Canterbury Street and Watling Street.

(CHATHAM TOWN CENTRE) (TRAFFIC REGULATION)
ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made the above-named Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act -
The Order is required two rationalise the traffic restrictions in Chatham Town Centre so as to route vehicles in a way that minimises vehicle distances travelled thus improving pedestrian space, and to then (for administrative convenience) consolidate all relevant new and existing restrictions into a new Order.
The principal effect of the Order is to (a) create a Pedestrian Zone operating between 10am and 5pm – seven days a week – through High Street and which will prohibit vehicle access to Military Road from Globe Lane and to High Street from Bachelor Street during these times; (b) make Batchelor Street two way but with traffic travelling towards High Street
required to then turn left and follow one way; (c) make Church Street one way from High Street towards Whittaker Street; (d) make High Street one way between Military Road/Railway Street and The Brook with all traffic exiting High Street required to turn left; (e) prohibiting left or right turns into High Street from Union Street/The Brook.
The overnight (5pm-10am) goods vehicle loading bay in High Street opposite 302/304 High Street is confirmed.
The Order was made on 11 July 2024, and will come into effect on 22 July 2024.
