Dartford, Waiting Restrictions & Street Parking Notices

What is happening?

The Kent County Council (Various Roads, Dartford)
(Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2020
(Amendment No.29) Order 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that the KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Office of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of which would be the following:

a. Introduce Disabled Badge Holders Only bays at the following locations:

i.   Howard Road – south-western kerbline, from the boundary wall of No 82/84 in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

ii.  Attlee Drive – north-western kerbline, from a point in line with the boundary wall of No 77/79 in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

iii.  Thirza Road – western kerbline, from the boundary wall of No 3/5 in a southerly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

iv.  Acacia Road, Horn Cross Greenhithe – eastern kerbline, from the boundary wall of No 11/13 in a northerly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

v.  Ingress Gardens – north-western kerbline, from a point 2 metres south-west of the boundary wall of No 24/25 in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

vi.  Stanhope Road – north-eastern kerbline, from the boundary wall of No 37/39 in a northerly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

vii. Eglington Road – western kerbline, from the boundary wall of No 48/50 in a southerly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

viii.Lavinia Road – southern kerbline, from a point 8.7 metres west of its junction with Somerville Road in a westerly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

ix.  Anne of Cleves Road – eastern kerbline, from the boundary wall of No 54/55 in a northerly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

b. Revoke Disabled Badge Holder Bays at the following location:

i.   Anne of Cleves Road – eastern kerbline, from a point 11 metres north of its junction with Priory Place in a northerly direction for a distance of 5.5 metres.

c. Revoke Permit Holders Only DW3, Mon-Fri 9.30am-4.30pm at the following location:

i.   Anne of Cleves Road – eastern kerbline, from the boundary wall of No 54/55 in a northerly direction for a distance of 6.6 meters.

d.  Introduce Permit Holders Only DW3, Mon-Fri 9.30am-4.30pm at the following location:

i.   Anne of Cleves Road – eastern kerbline, from a point 11 metres north of its junction with Priory Place in a northerly direction for a distance of 5.5 metres.

e. Introduce a shared use Disabled badge holders only 8am-8pm 3 hours No return within 3 hours / Goods Vehicles Loading Only 30 mins No return within 1hr at the following location:

i.   Instone Road – southern kerbline, from a point 11 metres west of the eastern boundary wall of Dartford Social Club for a distance of 15 metres in a westerly direction.

f.  Revoke No stopping except local buses bay at the following location:

i.   Spital Street – northern kerbline, from its junction with Orchard Street to a point 2 metres north-west of a point level with the western boundary of number 17a.

g. Introduce Solo motor cycle parking at the following location:

i.   Spital Street – northern kerbline, from a point 10 metres east of its junction with Orchard Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 20 metres.

h. Introduce At Any Time loading restriction at the following location:

i.   Hythe Street – western kerbline from a point 5 metres south of its junction with Westgate Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 28 meters.

ii.  Hythe Street – eastern kerbline from a point 7 metres south of its junction with Westgate Road in a southerly direction for a distance of 27 meters.

iii.  Spital Street – northern kerbline, from its junction with Orchard Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 10 metres.

i.  Introduce At Any time waiting restrictions to the following locations:

i.   Barnfield Close – east and western kerbline, from its junction with Hedge Place Road in a northerly direction for 6 metres.

ii.  Hedge Place Road – northern kerb line, from its junction with Barnfield Close in an easterly direction for a distance of 15 metres.

iii.  Hedge Place Road – northern kerb line, from its junction with Barnfield Close in a westerly direction for a distance of 15 metres.

iv.  Spital Street – northern kerbline, from its junction with Orchard Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 10 metres.

v.  Lingfield Avenue – south-eastern kerbline, from its junction with Rosedale Close for a distance of 6.7m in a northerly direction.

vi.  Lingfield Avenue – south-eastern kerbline, from its junction with Rosedale Close for a distance of 10m in a southerly direction.

vii. Rosedale Close – northern kerbline, from its junction with Lingfield Avenue for a distance of 14.5m in an easterly direction.

viii. Rosedale Close – southern kerbline, from its junction with Lingfield Avenue for a distance of 8.8m in an easterly direction.

ix.  Cumberland Drive – eastern kerbline, from a point 4 metres north of the boundary of No 1/3 in a northerly direction for a distance of 3 meters.

j.  Introduce a Restricted Parking Zone No waiting at any time at the following location:

i.   Bulls Head Yard – entire extent, between its junction with Suffolk Road and High Street.

A copy of the Order, statement of the Council’s reasons for the Made Order, a map indicating the location which will come into effect on the 26th July 2024 can be examined by prior appointment Mondays to Fridays between 10am and 4pm at Dartford Borough Council Offices, Civic Centre, Home Gardens, Dartford, Kent DA1 1DR during normal office hours or viewed online at https://www.dartford.gov.uk/policy-1/parking-strategy-consultations/1

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement in relation to the Order.
