Westonzoyland Road, Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Installation Works

Somerset Council A372 Westonzoyland Road, Bridgwater in the Parish of Bridgwater Without (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2024

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary traffic restrictions as detailed in the Schedules below.

This Order will come into operation on the 30th day of July 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months.

The Works are to be phased (as signed on site) and expected to commence on the 5th day of August 2024 until the 4th day of September 2024 to enable the JSM Group working on behalf of Agratas to carry out excavation and duct installation in the carriageway. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Schedule 1 Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

(Night Time Closure) between 1900 hours and 0700 hours (Phased Works) A372 Westonzoyland Road, Bridgwater - From its junction with Bower Lane in an easterly then southerly direction for a distance of 1110 metres.

Schedule 2 Temporary 40mph Speed Limit A372 Westonzoyland Road, Bridgwater - From a point 310 metres east of the junction with Bower Lane in a south easterly direction for a distance of 790 metres.

Statement of reasons for making the Order a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
