What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order:
ORDER NO. MCC139275863: The City of Manchester (Gibbon Street, Clayton & Openshaw Ward)(Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Gibbon Street One-Way from the junction of the Waterfront to Alan Turing Way in that direction (permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be: Alan Turing Way, Ashton New Road, Bank Street, Fairclough Street, Archer Street, Stuart Street. There will be advanced warning signs at the junction of Briscoe Lane advising of the closure. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate a new electricity cable installation. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 20th July 2024 to 7th August2024. 
The Order shall come into operation on 20th July 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
