What is happening?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (BROADSTONE ROAD, HEATON CHAPEL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffc (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Keswick Road, at its junction with Broadstone Road. Briarfeld Road, at its junction with Broadstone Road whilst traffc signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads. This notice is issued to facilitate the construction of Broadstone Road, Bus Pinch Point Scheme. Works are for the construction of a Signalised Toucan crossing with associated works including kerb line buildouts and traffc calming features. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 12 weeks. Alternative routes will be provided via:- Diversion 1: Briarfeld Road, Broadstone Hall Road South, Broadstone Road, and vice versa. Diversion 2: Keswick Road, Ashford Road, Broadstone Hall Road North, Broadstone Road, and vice versa. 
This Order is to come into operation on the 2 September 2024 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: ZLA/3718590
