Maidstone, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A274 Biddenden Road, Headcorn (TEMPORARY SPEED REDUCTION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow bridge maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily restrict through traffic on part of A274 Biddenden Road, Headcorn, on or after 5th August 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

A274 Biddenden Road will be restricted to 30mph, from the railway bridge to the junction with Bletchingdon Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

B2163 Plough Wents Road & Chart Corner, Chart Sutton, ME17 3QY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on B2163 Plough Wents Road & Chart Corner, Chart Sutton, on or after 24th July 2024 for up to 38 days or until the works have been completed.

Works will be carried out in 2 phases, phase 1 will begin on 24th July 2024, with an estimated completion date of 30th August 2024. Phase 2 will begin on 12th August 2024, with an estimated completion date of 30th August 2024.

Phase 1 - B2163 Plough Wents Road will be closed outside Willmott. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic on is via B2163 Plough Wents Road, A274 Sutton Road, A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road and vice versa.

Phase 2 - Chart Corner will be closed outside The Moorings. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic on is via B2163 Plough Wents Road, A274 Maidstone Road, Warmlake Road, Chart Corner and vice versa.

 

Bull Lane, Stockbury, ME9 7UB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bull Lane, Stockbury, on or after 7th August 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Walnut Tree Cottage, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cowstead Road, Lower Hartlip Road, Cradles Road, Hill Green Road, The Street, Hill Green Road, Bull Lane and vice versa.

 

Chartway Street & Pitt Road, Sutton Valence, ME17 3JB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow new electric connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chartway Street & Pitt Road, Sutton Valence, on or after 22nd July 2024 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

A temporary 30mph speed limit will be imposed on Chartway Street between the junctions of Bridgefield and Charlton Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Pitt Road will be closed between the junctions of Chartway Street and Cross Drive. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pitt Road, Ulcombe Road, B2163 Leeds Road, A274 Maidstone Road, Chartway Street and vice versa.

 

Dean Street & Forge Lane, East Farleigh, ME15 0HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dean Street & Forge Lane, East Farleigh, on or after 24th July 2024 for up to 38 days or until the works have been completed.

Dean Street will be closed from The Bungalow to the junction of Forge Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Forge Lane will be closed from the junction of Dean Street to North View Oast. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic on Dean Street is via Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2163 Heath Road and vice versa.

The alternative route for any through traffic on Forge Lane is via B2163 Heath Road, B2163 Ewell Lane, B2010 Lower Road and vice versa

 

Ernest Drive, Maidstone, ME16 0QT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow remedial works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ernest Drive, Maidstone, on or after 8th August 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside No. 2. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Leonard Close, Trevor Drive, Ernest Drive and vice versa.

 

Lenham Road, Headcorn, TN27 9LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lenham Road, Headcorn, on or after 7th August 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Witherden Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lenham Road, Kings Road, A274 Mill Bank, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Sutton Valence Hill, A274 North Street, Chartway Street, Lenham Road, Headcorn Road, Liverton Hill, Headcorn Road, Lenham Road and vice versa.

 

Lenham Road, Platts Heath, ME17 2PA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow highway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lenham Road, Platts Heath, on or after 23rd July 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Cork’s Court, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lenham Road, Chegworth Road, A20 Ashford Road, East Street, Sandway Road, Headcorn Road and vice versa.

 

Lower Fant Road, Maidstone, ME16 8DP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow water supply renewal works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lower Fant Road, Maidstone, on or after 22nd July 2024 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside 49. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The One-way order will be suspended on Lower Fant Road to allow access.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Fant Road, Upper Fant Road, Bower Lane and vice versa.

 

Redwall Lane, Linton, ME15 0RJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow highway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Redwall Lane, Linton, on or after 24th July 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Threshing Barn, between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Redwall Lane, East Street, Hunton Road, Green Lane, Underlyn Lane, B2079 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, A229 Linton Hill, Redwall Lane and vice versa.

 

South Street, Barming (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow bridge repair and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of South Street, Barming, on or after 28th July 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the Railway Bridge, between the hours of 02:00 and 23:59, continuous working. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic.

 

Stockett Lane, Coxheath, ME17 4PJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow new water connection to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stockett Lane, Coxheath, on or after 24th July 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junctions of B2163 Heath Road and Westway. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2163 Heath Road, Park Way, Westway and vice versa.

 

Wierton Road, Boughton Monchelsea, ME17 4JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wierton Road, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 23rd July 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of B2163 Heath Road and Back Lane, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Back Lane, Park Lane, B2163 Heath Road and vice versa.

 

Yeoman Lane, Bearsted, ME14 4QL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow new water meter installation to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Yeoman Lane, Bearsted, on or after 22nd July 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside 50. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Yeoman Lane, Ware Street, Hog Hill, The Landway, A20 Ashford Road, Romney Close and vice versa.

 

Various Roads, Maidstone (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow the Maidstone River Festival event to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various roads in Maidstone as detailed below, on or after 27th July 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The following roads will be closed:

•  A229 Fairmeadow – between the junctions with Stacey’s Street roundabout and High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

•  Earl Street – between the junctions with Pudding Lane and A229 Fairmeadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

•  Medway Street – at the junction with A229 Fairmeadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

•  St Faiths Street – from outside the Maidstone Museum to the junction with A229 Fairmeadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any clockwise through traffic is via B2012 Stacey Street, B2012 Lower Boxley Road, B2012 Well Road, B2012 Holland Road, A249 Albion Place, A249 Ashford Giratory, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Knightrider Street, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way.

The alternative route for any anti-clockwise through traffic is via A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Mote Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Albion Place, B2012 Holland Road, B2012 Well Road, B2012 Lower Boxley Road, B2012 Stacey Street.
