The City Of Manchester - Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic To Facilitate Telecoms Frame And Cover Repairs

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary One Way Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC139324328: The City of Manchester (Chapeltown Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Chapeltown Street one-way from Great Ancoats Street to Longacre Street (permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be: Chapeltown Street, Sparkle Street, Store Street, Boad Street, Sheffield Street, Travis Street, Adair Street, Great Ancoats Street.The alternative routes for traffic will be: Chapeltown Street, Sparkle Street, Store Street, Boad Street, Sheffield Street, Travis Street, Adair Street, Great Ancoats Street. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate telecoms frame and cover repairs. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 28th July 2024 only. The Order shall come into operation on 28th July 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated 13 July 2024. 
ORDER NO. MCC000139325094: The City of Manchester (Church Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to suspend the operation of the bus lane on Church Street from Union Street to Red Lion Street thereby permitting the use of that part of the carriageway by all motor vehicles. The City Council is satisfied that this suspension is necessary in order to facilitate utility works. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 28th July 2024 only. The order shall come into operation on 28th July 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
