What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE DISTRICT AND CITY OF CARLISLE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.5) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached

Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 29 July 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required within a 10 day period between 29 July 2024 and 29 October 2024, and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. Embleton Road, Carlisle (Ref: TTROC/11401)

From its junction with Upperby Road to its junction with Scalegate Road.

Alternative Route: via Scalegate Road, Kirklands Road and Upperby Road.

2. B5307 Thurstonfield (Ref: TTROC/11165)

From its junction with the C1021, extending in an overall westerly direction for approx. 510m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5307, C2053 Whitrigglees, C2042, U2001 Glasson, C2042 Burgh by Sands and the A689.

3. U1074 Blackford (Ref: TTROC/11420)

From its junction with U1079, extending in an overall westerly direction for approx. 1.2km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1074, U1075, C1016 Westlinton, C1009, C1076 and U1077.

4. U1113 Beaumont (Ref: TTROC/11422)

The entire length of the U1113, which extends from the junction with the U1111.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

5. U1093 Birky Lane, Walby (Ref: TTROC/1 1423)

From its junction with the A689, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1.3km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1093 and A689,

6. Denton Street, Denton Holme, Carlisle (Ref: TTROC/11424) From its junction with Charlotte Street extending in a southerly direction for approx 900m

Alternative Route: via Norfolk Street, Ferguson Road, Percy Road, Dalston Road and Charlotte Street.

7. C1012 Boltonfellend (Ref: TTROC/11475)

From its junction with the U1085 extending in an overall southerly direction for approx. 1.4km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1012, A6071 and C1005.
