What is happening?

Temporary Traffic Management Order Of Higher Blandford Road, Shaftesbury

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5th August 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14th September 2024

This Order will enable Baram Ltd, safe access to carry out works to the junction in the highway

The effect of this order is as follows; [1] To impose temporary no right turn from Higher Blandford Road, Shaftesbury onto Salisbury Road, Shaftesbury as indicated by signs on site.

Temporary Closure Of Phillips Road, Marnhull

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along PHILLIPS ROAD, MARNHULL from the junction with Church Hill to a point approximately 30 metres to the east (in both directions). The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22nd July 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 4th August 2024

This Order will enable Mua Electricity Limited to excavate and install a new cable to provide electric supply for the CG Fry Development.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Phillips Road, Ashley Road, Sodom Lane and vice versa.

Temporary Closure Of Various Footpaths, Okeford Fitzpaine

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horses and cycles will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Footpaths in Okeford Fitzpaine as stated: [i] Public Footpath N48/4 from a point 
approximately 110 metres to the north west of its junction with Public Footpath N48/2 to Public Footpath N48/5; [ii] Public Footpath N48/5 between Public Footpath N48/55 to Public Footpath N48/6; [iii] Public Footpath N48/6 from N48/4 to Public Footpath N48/7, an overall distance of approximately 270 metres. The order is needed to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 15th July 2024 for a period of 26 weeks initially.

But can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 15th January 2025.

This closure is required for safety reasons for the general public whilst construction works take place.

Temporary diversion signage will be in place for pedestrians to navigate safely around the site.
