What is happening?
WARRINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Notice is hereby given that, in not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, the Council intends to make Orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
A57 Manchester Rd & Adj. St's (Prohibition of Driving, Clearway & Suspension) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which will be as follows: Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: A57
Manchester Rd from its jct. with Woolston Grange Ave to its jct. with Gig Ln; From Manchester Rd for 25m along the following lengths of road: Redwood Cl; Weir Ln; The Manor; Riversdale; Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (A50 Long Ln/Orford Green) (7.5 Tonne Weight Limit) Order 2007 in its entirety. The Order will be effective from 30th September 2024 for 8 weeks, between 7pm & 1am. The alternative route will be via A49 Lythgoes Ln, A49 Winwick Rd, A50 Long Ln, A50 Orford Green, A574 Birchwood Way & vice versa. The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing. A574 Warrington Rd & Adj. St's, Culcheth (Prohibition of Driving & Clearway) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: A574 Warrington Rd from its jct. with Holcroft Ln to its jct. with Millbrook Cl; From A574 Warrington Rd for 50 metres along the following lengths of road: Eden Ave; Ravenfield Cl; Fowley Common Ln; Hey Shoot Ln. The Order will be effective from 19th August 2024 for 8 weeks, between 7pm & 1am. The alternative route will be via A580 East Lancashire Rd, A572 Newton Rd, B5207 Kenyon Ln, B5207 Wilton Ln, B5207 Broseley Ln, B5207 Common Ln & vice versa. The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing. Ref: 7837925
East Ave, Sankey (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on East Ave from its jct. with Liverpool Rd to its jct. with Haig Ave. The Order will be effective from 12th August 2024 for 1 week. The alternative route will be via Liverpool Rd, Haig Ave & vice versa. The closure is required to allow for United Utilities to carry out sewer repairs. Ref: 9797758
Gainsborough Rd (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Gainsborough Rd from its jct. with Chester Rd to its jct. with Silverdale Rd. The Order will be effective from 3rd August 2024 for 1 week. The alternative routes will be via Chester Rd, Wilderspool Cswy & vice versa or via Chester Rd, Walton Rd, London Rd, Wilderspool Cswy & vice versa. The closure is required to allow for Scottish Power to upgrade its electrical network. Ref: 9825388
Laburnum Ln, Penketh (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Laburnum Ln from its jct. with Liverpool Rd to the Borough Boundary with St Helens. The Order will be effective from 12th August 2024 for 8 weeks. The alternative route will be signed on site. The closure is required to allow for Scottish Power to upgrade its electrical network. Park Rd, Sankey (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Park Rd (southeast bound traffic) from its jct. with Lingley Green Ave to its jct. with Mayfair Cl. The Order will be effective from 12th August 2024 for 1 week. The alternative route will be via Lingley Green Ave & Barrow Hall Ln. The closure is required to allow for Scottish Power to replace a link box. Ref: 9803156
River Rd (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on River Rd to the rear of properties 190 to 212 Wilderspool Cswy. The Order will be effective from 27th August 2024 for 2 weeks. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to carry out sewer repairs. Ref: 9829989

Public Footpath No. 20 Appleton (Footpath Closure) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which is to introduce a footpath closure on Public Footpath No. 20 Appleton from its jct. with Doods Ln to its jct. with the newly diverted section of the public footpath beyond the second footbridge. The Order will be effective from 11th July 2024 for 6 months. No alternative route is available. The closure is required to protect the public from two dangerous footbridges on the footpath. Lyons Ln, Appleton (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Lyons Ln from its jct. with London Rd to its jct. with Park Cres. The Order will be effective from 22nd July 2024 for 3 weeks. The alternative route will be via London Rd, Longwood Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to carry out network reinforcement works. Ref: 9526809
Mill Ln, Lymm (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Mill Ln from its jct. with Birchbrook Rd to its jct. with Wet Gate Ln. The Order will be effective from 22nd July 2024 for 2 days. The alternative route will be via Birchbrook Rd, Rushgreen Rd, New Rd, The Cross, Eagle Brow, Church Rd, Higher Ln & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to carry out a new electrical connection. Ref: 9548140
Newlands Rd, Grappenhall (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Newlands Rd from its jct. with Hill Top Rd to its jct. with Hunts Ln. The Order will be effective from 22nd July 2024 for 2 weeks. The alternative route will be via Hill Top Rd, Greenbank Rd, Higher Knutsford Rd, Hunts Ln & vice versa. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to carry out sewer repair works. Station Rd, Padgate (Prohibition of Driving) Temporary Order 2024
The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Station Rd from its jct. with Blackbrook Ave to its jct. with Church Dr. The Order will be effective from 22nd July 2024 for 2 weeks. The alternative route will be via Blackbrook Ave, Birchwood Way, Woolston Grange Ave, Harpers Rd & vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to carry out network reinforcement works. Ref: 9548142
Wood Ln, Appleton (Prohibition Of Driving) Temporary Order 2024 Notice is hereby given that the Council made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 20th June 2024. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving on Wood Ln from its jct. with Bridge Ln to its jct. with Ash Ln. The Order is effective from 1st July 2024, however due to unforeseen circumstances the works will not be starting on site until 22nd July 2024, for 4 weeks. The alternative route & reason for the works remains the same as previously advertised. Ref: 8988512
The temporary restrictions will be in place as & when the signs are in place on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
