What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Windsor Road, Dorchester
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along WINDSOR ROAD, DORCHESTER at its junction with Damers Road, a distance of approximately 5 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 29 July 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 9 August 2024.
This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to carry out works.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using: Damers Road -Marie Road - Cambridge Road - Windsor Road.

Various Roads, Charminster (Order 202*)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset proposes to make Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. Order one will be to introduce the following:
• Introduce a 20mph zone to include the following roads in Charminster:
- Artisan Drive
- Harvest Hill
- Longhorn Hill
- Pasture Lane
- Sheridan Rise
• Introduce a 30mph speed limit for Drakes Lane and Wanchard Lane, Charminster.
Order two will be to introduce the following:
• Prohibit any vehicle, in excess of 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight (except for access), from proceeding on Harvest Hill, Weir View and West Hill, Charminster.
Relevant exemptions will apply where appropriate and as necessary in accordance with the provisions of the Order.

Temporary Closure Of Bincombe Bumps Roundabout Area, Weymouth
(Night Works)
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along BINCOMBE BUMPS ROUNDABOUT AREA, WEYMOUTH;
i) between A353 Jurassic Roundabout To Bincombe Bumps Roundabout ii) between Bincombe Bumps roundabout and its junction with Turnstone Close iii) Littlemoor Road between its junction with Bincombe Bumps roundabout to its junction with The Finches iv) Icen Lane at its junction with Bincombe Bumps roundabout.
The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 17 July 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 22 July 2024. The works will be carried out between 2000hrs and 0500hrs.
This Order will enable RMS & WJ Lining, safe access to carry out preservation and lining works. An alternative route will be signed.

Temporary Closure of A354, Milborne St Andrew
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along A354, MILBORNE ST ANDREW between Dorchester Hill and to a point 80 metres to the west of Dewlish Road (in both directions), an overall distance of approximately 1010 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 20:00 until 06:00 on 23rd July 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28th July 2024.
This Order will enable Safemark Roadmarking Ltd safe access to undertake Asphalt preservation and Lining.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using A354, A350, A31 and vice versa.

Temporary Closure of Abbotsbury Road, Weymouth
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along ABBOTSBURY ROAD, WEYMOUTH between its junctions with Alma Road and B3154, a distance of approximately 1170 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15 July 2024 between 2000hrs and 0500hrs and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 20 July 2024. Please note that access to all the side roads will be managed by operatives on site.
This Order will enable RMS and WJ Lining to carry out asphalt preservation and lining works.
An alternative route will be signed using: A354 - B3157 - B3158 - Chickerell Road.

(Night Works)
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along DORCHESTER ROAD, WEYMOUTH between its junctions with Monmouth Avenue and Ricketts Close, a distance of approximately 1060 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 16 July 2024 between 2000hrs and 0500hrs and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 July 2024. Please note that access to side roads will be maintained by operatives on site.
This Order will enable RMS and WJ Markings safe access to carry out asphalt preservation and lining works.
An alternative route will be signed using: B3155 - King Street - A354 - Dorchester Road.

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along LITTLEMOOR ROAD, WEYMOUTH between its junctions with Bincombe Bumps roundabout and Chalbury Corner roundabout, a distance of approximately 2160 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 18 July 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23 July 2024. Please note the works will take place between 2130hrs and 0500hrs. This Order will enable RMS & WJ Lining safe access to carry out preservation and lining works. An alternative route will be signed using: B3155 - B3159 - A354.
