What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(SUNDERLAND ROAD, SANDY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sunderland Road, Sandy between Darlington Close and Stockton End.

This temporary closure is required to enable duct installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 29 to 30 July 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Sunderland Road, A1, Bedford Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 29 July 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Sunbelt Rentals – 03700 500792.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WARDEN ROAD, ICKWELL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Warden Road, Ickwell outside number 13.

This temporary closure is required to enable stop tap replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 30 July to 1 August. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Caldecote Road, Ickwell Road, Hitchin Road, Hill Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 30 July 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Anglian Water – 0800 145 145.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(LONDON ROAD, BIGGLESWADE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of London Road, Biggleswade approximately 60 metres from Elm Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 15 to 17 July 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A6001, A1 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 15 July 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Anglian Water – 0800 145 145.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the following lengths of road in Central Bedfordshire.

These temporary closures are required to enable various carriageway repair, patching, surface dressing, lining and drainage works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

The Order will come into operation on 15 July 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

It is expected that the first works will take place at some point between 15 July and 23 September 2024. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The roads will be closed at all times during this period.

The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic on the following lengths of road:

i.    Tempsford  Road, Everton between Sandy Road and junction with Tempsford Road. The alternative route for this closure is via Sandy Road, Everton Road, Swaden, B1042, A1, Tempsford Road and vice versa.

ii.   Ampthill Road, Shefford between Lambs Close and Penfold Close. The alternative route for this closure is via Southbridge Street, Ivel Road, A507, Ampthill Road and vice versa. iii. S t Johns Road, Moggerhanger outside St John’s Hospice. The alternative route for this closure is via Bedford Road, Hitchin Road, Thorncote Road, Budna Road, St Johns Road and vice versa.

iv.  High Street, Wrestlingworth and Cockayne Hatley outside number 80. The alternative route for this closure is via Hatley Road, Sutton Road, B1042 and vice versa.

v.   Mead End, Biggleswade. The alternative route for this closure is via Dells Lane, Holme Court Avenue and vice versa.

vi.  Sun Street, Potton between Horne Lane and Market Square and Royston Street, Potton between Sun Street and Royston Court. The alternative routes for these closures are via King Street, Gamlingay Road, Hatley Road, Sutton Road and vice versa, and via B1042, Swaden, Everton Road, Sandy Road, Potton Road, Myers Road, B1040 and vice versa.

vii. St Swithuns Way, Peel’s Place, Cherrycroft and Stonecroft, Sandy. The alternative route for this closure is via High Street, Cambridge Road and vice versa. viii. C 54, Tempsford between both A1 flyover roundabouts. The alternative route for this closure is via A1 to Black Cat roundabout, A1, C54 and vice versa.

ix.  High Street, Meppershall at its junction with Fildyke Road. The alternative route for this closure is via Meppershall Road, Upton End Road, Marquis Hill, Shillington Road, Station Road, A600, A507, Shefford Road and vice versa.

x.   Meppershall Road, Upper Stondon at various locations along length. The alternative route for this closure is via Stondon Road, Shillington Road, Meppershall Road, Upton End Road, Marquis Hill, Shillington Road, Station Road, Hillside Road and vice versa.
