Somerset, Temporary Road Closures Due To Cabling Works
What is happening?
Somerset Council Parishes of Buckland St Mary and Bishopswood Temporary Closure of Blindmoor Lane, Whatley Road and Royston Road
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Blindmoor Lane - from the junction with Beech Road to the junction with Pound Lane; Whatley Road -from the junction with Royston Road to the junction with Whatley Lane; and Royston Road - from the junction with Whatley Road to the junction with Whatley Lane. A total distance of 2629 metres. This Order will enable Openreach to carry out phased works as and when signed on site to install new fibre cables. Only one road to be closed at a time.
The Order becomes effective on 25th July 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months. These phased works are expected to commence on 29th July 2024 and last until 9th August 2024 for a total of 12 days.
