What is happening?

THE TONBRIDGE AND MALLING BOROUGH COUNCIL (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2023 No.2

Notice is hereby given that Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council has made the above Order under Sections 32 and 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be as per the Council’s existing Off-Street Parking Places Order, save for the following changes which come into effect on 19th August 2024;

Part 3 – Revised tariff of existing charges
The Council has revised its tariff of charges for off-street parking as follows;
Car parks in the town of Tonbridge,
Group 1 (Short Stay), covering Angel, Botany, Bradford Street, Kinnings Row, Lamberts Yard and River Lawn Groups 5 & 7 (Short Stay), covering Upper Castle Field and Castle Grounds
• £0.80 for parking for up to 30 minutes
• £1.60 for parking up to 1 hour
• £3.20 for parking up to 2 hours
• £4.80 for parking up to 3 hours
• £6.40 for parking up to 4 hours
• £3.20 per hour for additional hours, to a maximum of 23 consecutive hours
• £360 for 12 month off-peak season tickets.
Group 2 (Long Stay), covering Sovereign Way Mid and Waterloo Road
• £1.60 for parking up to 1 hour
• £3.00 for parking up to 2 hours
• £4.10 for parking up to 3 hours
• £6.20 for parking up to 6 hours
• £7.00 for parking up to 23 consecutive hours
• £360 for a 12 month off-peak season ticket
• £90 for a 3 month Town Centre residents’ season ticket
• £360 for a 12 month Town Centre residents’ season ticket
Groups 3 & 6 (Long Stay), covering Sovereign Way East, Sovereign Way
North and Lower Castle Field, and
Group 4 (Long Stay), covering Vale Road
• £1.60 for parking up to 1 hour
• £3.00 for parking up to 2 hours
• £4.10 for parking up to 3 hours
• £6.20 for parking up to 6 hours
• £7.00 for parking up to 23 consecutive hours
• £132 for a monthly season ticket
• £1150 for a 12 month season ticket
• £360 for a 12 month off-peak season ticket
• £90 for a 3 month Town Centre residents’ season ticket
• £360 for a 12 month Town Centre residents’ season ticket
Group 14.1, covering Haysden Country Park
• £2.20 for parking up to 4 hours
• £5.00 for parking over 4 hours
• £70 for 12 month car park season tickets
In the town of West Malling,
Group 16, covering High Street car park
• 60 pence for parking up to 30 minutes
• £1.20 for parking up to 1 hour
• £2.00 for parking up to 2 hours
• £2.90 for parking up to 3 hours
• £3.80 for parking up to 4 hours
Group 10, covering Ryarsh Lane car park
• £26 for 1 month car park season ticket
• £290 for a 12 month car park season ticket
• 60 pence for parking up to 30 minutes
• £1.20 for parking up to 1 hour
• £2.00 for parking up to 2 hours
• £2.90 for parking up to 3 hours
• £3.80 for parking up to 4 hours
In the village of Borough Green
Group 13, covering Western Road car park
• £0.30 for parking up to 30 minutes
• £0.60 for parking up to 1 hour
• £1.00 for parking up to 2 hours
• £1.80 for parking up to 4 hours
• £2.60 for parking up to 6 hours
• £3.50 for parking up to 9 hours
• £5.50 for parking all day (23 consecutive hours)
• £385 for the residents car park season ticket

A copy of the Order and a statement of reasons for making the Order may be
inspected during normal working hours at the offices of Tonbridge and Malling Council Offices, Kings Hill, West Malling.

The Order may also be viewed on www.tmbc.gov.uk/offstreetcharges

Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulations 1984, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
