What is happening?

The A63 Trunk Road (Elloughton Bridge Footway Closure) (Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians)
Notice Is Hereby Given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A63 Trunk Road, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, to enable footbridge maintenance and waterproofing works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 6am on Monday 5 August 2024, for 25 nights or until completed, and will take place 24 hours a day.
The effect of the Order will be too close the footway above the A63 eastbound carriageway approximately 320 metres west of Dale Road Overbridge, during which times a suitably signed alternative route will be available.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibition (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or to anyone engaged in the said works or traffic officer purposes, or to anyone engaged in the said works). The Order comes into force on 4 August 2024 and has a maximum duration of six months.
