What is happening?

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (ILLINGWORTH GROVE, WHINNEY HILL, DURHAM) (TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) ORDER 2024

The Council Intend to make an Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to introduce:

(a) No entry restriction on 1. Whinney Hill East (access road) from its junction with Illingworth Grove - vehicles travelling in a westerly direction

2. lllingworth Grove from its southern junction with Whinney Hill - vehicles travelling in an easterly direction,

(b) a One Way restriction on 1. Illingworth Grove from its junction with Whinney Hill East (access road) - Vehicles travelling in an easterly, southerly then westerly direction to its southern junction with Whinney Hill

2. Whinney Hill East (access road) vehicles travelling in an easterly direction to the junction with Illingworth Grove,

(c) 20 mph speed limit restriction on 1. Illingworth Grove for its entire length

2. Whinney Hill East (access road) for its entire length.

A copy of the draft Order and supporting documents may be inspected at Durham Clayport Library during normal opening times via the Council website. Any person who wishes to object to the proposed Order should send their grounds of objection, in writing to Sharon Renwick, Legal Assistant, at County Hall, Durham or by email to highways.orders@durham.gov.uk quoting reference number 6602175 by no later than 1/8/2024
