What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC000139238438: The City of Manchester (Portland Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane and Temporary Prohibition of Right-Hand Turn) Order 2024under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to suspend the operation of the bus lane on Portland Street, thereby permitting the use of that part of the carriageway by all motor vehicles and to prohibit the right-hand turn from Sackville Street onto Portland Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be Portland Street, Princess Street, Whitworth Street, Whitworth Street West, Albion Street, Great Bridgewater Street, Chepstow Street. The City Council is satisfied that this suspension/prohibition is necessary in order to repack water valve outside 56-58 Portland Street. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 14th July 2024 to 14th July 2024. The order shall come into operation on the14th July 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
