What is happening?

Renfrewshire Council

The Renfrewshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby gives notice that, because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads, no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven or cause or permit any vehicle (except works vehicles) to wait or load on the following length of road in the town of Renfrew in the Unitary Authority of Renfrewshire:

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - NIGHT WORKING

Incle Street/Weir Street/Old Sneddon Street, Paisley

Reason for Restriction: Road Resurfacing Works

First Phase:

A726 Incle Street Southbound - From junction of Wallneuk Road and Junction of A761 Gauze Street - Closure in place from 20:00 and 06:00

Alternative Routes: A726 Weir Street, A726 Old Sneddon Street, A726 St James' Street, A726 Caledonia Street, A726 Greenock Road, St James Roundabout, A737 Westbound, A737 Linwood Off slip, A761 Linwood Road, A761 Ferguslie, Diversion Ends - Follow Permanent Signs.

A726 Incle Street Northbound - From junction of A761 Gauze Street/ Glasgow Road and A726 Weir Street - Closure in place from 20:00 and 06:00

Alternative Routes: A726 Mill Street, A761 Gordon Street, A761 Canal Street, A761 Ferguslie, A761 Linwood Road, A737 Linwood Onslip, A737 St James Roundabout Off slip, A726 St James Roundabout, A726 Greenock Road, A726 Caledonia Street, Diversion Ends - Follow Permanent Signs.

Lawn Street - From Junction of Silk Street and A726 Incle Street - Closure in place from 20:00 and 06:00

Alternative Routes: Silk Street, Cotton Street, Bridge Street, then connect to alternative route for A726 Incle Street Northbound.

Reason for Restriction: Road Resurfacing Works

Vehicles left on the road in contravention of this Notice will be moved out of the works area. Emergency access will be maintained. Access to premises will be maintained where possible.

This notice will be in force from Monday 08th July 2024 until Thursday 15th August 2024. This notice will only be effective when so displayed by signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations & General Directions 2016.

Smithshills Street - Junction of A726 Weir Street - Closure in place from 20:00 and 06:00

Alternative Routes: Central Road

Old Sneddon Street - From A726 Weir Street to Moss Street - Closure in place from 19:00 and 06:00

Alternative Routes: There will be a lane open between Abercorn Street and Smithhills Street. A726 Weir Street, A726 Renfrew Road and A726 Niddry Street.

New Sneddon Street - At the junction Old Sneddon Street - Closure in place from 19:00 and 06:00

Alternative Routes: A726 Niddry Street, A726 Renfrew Road and A726 Weir Street

Gilmour Street - At the junction Old Sneddon Street - Closure in place from 19:00 and 06:00

Alternative Routes: Smithhills Street and Abercorn Street
