Suffolk - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works.
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2526 FAIRFIELD ROAD, SAXMUNDHAM
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U2S26 Fairfield Road, Saxmundham from Rendham Road to Chapel Road to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the B1119 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 11/07/2024 -13/07/2024 from 9am - 4.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Suffolk Highways. Tel: 0345 606 6171.
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE DEFOE ROAD FOOTWAY, IPSWICH
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following footways in the following phases:
1. Defoe Road Footway, Ipswich from no. 69 to no. 101 and from no. 103 to no. 135.
2. Defoe Road Footway, Ipswich from no. 137 to no. 169 and from no. 171 to no. 191.
This is to facilitate electricity cable connections. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion routes will be:
1. Homer Close, the footway between no. 137 and no. 169 and the footway from no. 171 to no. 191 and vice versa.
2. Homer Close, the footway from no. 69 to no. 101 and the footway from no. 103 to no. 135.
It is intended that the closures will operate from:
1.11/07/2024 - 18/07/2024.
2. 22/07/2024 - 25/07/2024.
If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A1071 BOXFORD LANE, NEWTON
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the A1071 Boxford Lane, Newton from 615 metres east of Trotts Lane for 20 metres eastbound to facilitate a new water supply. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be the A134, the A1341, the A12, the A1214 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 8pm on 11/07/2024 - 6am on 12/07/2024 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to TBF Traffic. Tel: (01449) 490865.
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C704 BRETTENHAM ROAD AND THE U4511
VALLEY LANE, BUXHALL
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads to facilitate providing safe working area for overhead telecommunications cabling works:
1. the C704 Brettenham Road, Buxhall from 58 metres north east of the entrance to Poultry Houses for 75 metres north eastbound
2. the U4511 valley Lane, Buxhall from the junction with Brettenham Road for 75 metres southbound.
Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be:
1. High Road, the B1115, The Water Run, Hares Road, Brettenham Road and vice versa.
2. no diversion.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 22/07/2024 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Sunbelt Rentals. Tel: 0370 050 0792.
