What is happening?

BRACKNELL FOREST BOROUGH COUNCIL

(SANDHURST ROAD, CROWTHORNE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Bracknell Forest Borough Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, in accordance with Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction along:

a) Sandhurst Road, Crowthorne between Kingsley Close and Edgbarrow Cottage.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by section (a) of this Order will be via either

i) Sandhurst Road, High Street, B3348 Bracknell Road, A3095 Foresters Way, A3095 Rackstraw Road, A321 Yorktown Road, and this route reversed. For vehicles higher than 3.6m or 11' 9" or;

ii) Church Street, Waterloo Road, A321 Wokingham Road, A321 High Street, A321 Yorktown and this route reversed. For vehicles lower than 3.6m or 11' 9".

The purpose of this Order is to ensure public & worker safety while the Southern Gas Network upgrade gas mains in the carriageway. The proposed Order will come into operation on the 27th July 2024, and its maximum duration will be 6 months. However, it is currently planned that the road closure will be in place on from 27th July 2024 until 4th August 2024.
